The South Portland, Maine Meineke is probably the worst in the nation when it comes to service if not the world. I do not want anyone else to be misled, and they are not honoring their slogan, satisfaction guaranteed.

Last month I brought my car to that location for service, and those guys made a fool out of me. I am not upset with the $600 plus amount that I spent, but I am upset with the service and their unprofessionalism, and how clueless they are about everything. When I brought my car there, this look-alike Steve Austin took my car for a ride, and he came back a few minutes later, and he said that my car needed a bunch of stuff, and he quoted me $1500.

First of all that is a lot of money, and second of all, I was in shock because he did not even run a diagnostic on the vehicle. Well, dumb me I assumed that he knew what he was doing; after all it is the car care center. Well, I paused, and I told him that lets do the major things first, and I would take care of the rest later. He did a tune up and an engine flush, and I was charged for a V8 rather than a V6, which they claimed it was their mistake. I dont remember when Nissan started making V8 Maximas. I brought my car there because it had been shaking severely, and I had no clue what was going on. Once that tuned up was done they claimed that it was all set.

As soon as I got inside the car, I knew something was wrong because the vehicle was continuously shaking. I called back the following day, and I told the person that my vehicle is still shaking, and he said that I should put gas in it. I did put gas in it, and it didnt do anything. I called back, and they said that I needed to run it for a little while.

I couldnt take it anymore so I brought it back to the shop. They finally ran a diagnostic and the mechanic said that I am getting multiple misfire, and it could be my computer. It would cost me $2000 to replace according to the expert. It could also be my coil pack, and they may have to replace all of them, and that is $900 because each one is $150 and I have six.

To be fair, he did say that he would try to figure out what the problem was, but I doubt that he did because my car was sitting there for two days, and he said that he would call. I had to go there to get my car. That was a whole different story compared to what they had told me in the beginning.

To make a long story short, they basically couldnt fix my car because they couldnt figure what was exactly wrong with it. They made me pay for a service that I did not even need. According to the Nissan dealer my vehicle only needed coil pack: number 2 & 4 which only cost $421 including labor. I think those guys are incompetent and everyone needs to know about it. I will make sure that everyone checks them out on Angiess List.
