meineke car care center stole my catalyic converter charlotte, North Carolina
i went to meineke car care center on freedom drive to get my catalyic converter replaced. when i asked for my old one back, they told me it was against the law for them to give me the part off of my car.
i asked them how could it be aganst the law to have a part that came off of my car?? i was then told that i would have to pay them $50 to get my old converter back because if the state came into their businees they would be fined if they couldnt show them a converter along with a receipt.

Please check your state law. I googled it and found this link http://law.onecle.com/north-carolina/66-commerce-and-business/66-11.html ; especially please read item "j" for the detail. Please do some research before posting your report.

Two Things:
1st used catalitic converters are required by law to be handled as dangerous goods. Do you have the certification to transport and store it? Thought not.
2nd These have a "Core" value in most places, the price you paid included the shop recovering this value.
