Attention all residents of, and visitors to, Las Vegas. Beware of the business practices of Meineke Maryland/Higear Meineke. I am someone who is very aware of the way this auto repair facility is owned and operated. This is not a good place to take your automobile for service.

It starts with the owner, Farouz "Chris" Tehranchipour. Chris is a real estate investor. This shop is his first venture into the auto repair business. He has little to no knowledge of the business, or of automobiles. That is no sin, however, would you trust him to repair your car right? Now, for the real problem; the Facility Manager, Jimmy Tiffin. Jimmy is angry, incompetent, and more than willing to cheat a customer in order to increase profit. Count on rude service, and 3+ follow up visits before Jimmy Tiffin gets your car repaired properly. The remainder of the staff is underskilled, underpaid, and undermotivated.

Here are two particular Customers, and their vehicles, who fell victim to this facility; Tia Quick/1996 Toyotra Corolla, and Scottie Williams, 2004 Chevrolet Impala. Tia went to this Meineke after another shop told her her car had an Oil Pan leak. Before doing his own inspection, Jimmy Tiffin sold her an Oil Pan gasket replacement service. This vehicle has an upper na a lower oil pan. The upper was bone dry, NO LEAK. The lower was "damp" NO LEAK. The upper had a labor time of 2.8 hours. The lower was 0.7 hours. Jimmy Tiffin charged her for the upper pan, and replaced the non-leaking lower pan. Tiffin charged $350.00 for a $100.00 repair, and it wasn't necessary. He got excited at the sight of money in the drawer. The worst part is that the mechanic who inspected the car told Tiffin of the no-leak condition, and the differences in the Oil Pan configurations before the repair was started. Tiffin did nothing. He continued on cheating this 22year old girl.

Scottie's case is of classic case of fix what is easy, without proper diagnostic checks, then add more to the ticket when it doesn't work. Since this car arrived at Meineke with two men pushing it into the parking lot, Tiffin felt that he had this one in the bag. This car ran out of gas, and the fuel pump burned out. Tiffin replaced the Crankshaft Sensor, because this is "a common problem" with these cars. He guessed. He charged $580.00 for this! The customer picked up his car, and it shut down less than 2 miles away, not to restart. This time Scottie towed it in. After Tiffin refused to properly repair this car, he tried to charge Scottie for the tow!!!

People, I am the mechanic who inspected the Toyota. I no longer work there due to this activity and for other reasons. Beware of this facility.
