Mel Clayton Ford Sells deficient cars and won't provide service for them. ripoff Phoenix Arizona
I bought a Ford Explorer from Mel Clayton last year. After a week, I noticed that one of the Automatic windows did not work. So I took it back to Ford for service. The claimed they fixed it and sent me on my way. Two days later the window was not working again. I took it back. They claimed they fixed it.
I have been back there four times and they haven't fixed the problem. The last time I took the car to mel Clayton I also found out that I have serious transmission problems and that I need to have that taken care of ASAP. Their service person told me to come in that Thursday and leave it until Saturday.
Well I moved my entire schedule around to take the car down there. When I got there, The service attendant tells me that I may not get my car back for over a week. He tells me to call him in a week to get quicker service. I call a week later and leave a message with two different service attendants to call me so I can set up an appointment.
I have called and left a message almost everyday, and no one is returning my calls. I have had this vehicle for barely over a year, and now my transmission is about to go south, there are functional problems that they never fixed (the window, and now there are all types of warnings coming up on my dash and I don't know what they're for).
I don't think I should have all of these problems with a car that is only a year old. My job is only 8 minutes from my house, so I don't commute a long way. The biggest frustration is trying to contact them and set up an appointment. When I do get an appointment, they have me go down there and either tell me it's going to take a long time to fix my car (week or more) or that they can't take me at all.
Based on my warranty I should be able to get service for a malfunctioning vehicle. I have never had these types of problems with any other vihicle I bought (Jeep or Nissan). I should at least get service for my vehicle.
