Its amazing this forum has been put together. I really appreciate it! I was a leader within the Melaleuca company for almost 5 years. My enroller and I teamed up and worked very hard...She hit Senior Director in 5 years and I hit it the month that I cancelled my membership.

In 1999 the company made some tough changes. They changed what used to be residual income to what they now call consistent income. The old timers (most of which won't speak up because of fear of loss of business and lawsuits) were robbed! I left in 2002 because they made a second wave of changes that effected everyone in the company. Now I have heard that it was absolutely necessary to stay afloat. Beware!

Ask any leader prior to 1999 how that effected their businesses. Its very sad. I saw this report and thought it would be good to add additional support to the numerous complaints on this board.

However I do want to address a few in this one paragraph. The key word is that you have started a home based business. Nothing is a FREE lunch and it appears that many do expect that here! I do not think that is fair! IF you started any business there would be one time and monthly costs ask any traditional business owner! If you were not educated on that I am truly sorry!

There are many leaders in hiding that have been greatly hurt by the moves of this company! Please walk into this with open eyes knowing that RESIDUAL income does not exist any longer there!

...he's one of many who decided to quit because their income was affected by the changes.
Melaleuca saw that some of the top earners were becoming lazy once they reached a certain income level. No longer training their enrollees or team members. No longer signing up new customers.
Not all of the big earners were like this, but those that were ruined it for the rest of them.
However, look at it like this, if you're earning good money doing something, and then you're given a pay cut because you stopped doing it, you're going to have complaints. No-one likes to receive less than what they are used to.

Changes are necessary in every company to survive. Had this individual and others who decided to quit, stayed with Melaleuca, they'd be on the up and up.

I agree that residual income should be just that and should not be taken away from individuals once they have earned it. In fact, when I joined Melaleuca in 2004, I did a lot of research about what I was getting into before deciding to go ahead. The compensation plan still allows for residual income as far as I can see.

Yeah, I'd like to know what those changes were too. So come on, let us know!

I would be very interested in knowing what types of changes were made in 1999 and 2002. Is it the compensation plan? What do you mean by changes. Obviously those changes cannot effect new customers, or can they? Maybe you can elaborate on what you mean. It would probably be beneficial to people out there considering the company.
