May 10th--Won a supposedly new Olympus Digital Camera #7616758978. Paid $213.25 immediately through PayPal. This listing for the Olympus Digital C-60 stated "Brand New!" in the title; and Condition: "New, Never Opened" with "BRAND NEW IN BOX 14 Day Return Policy - Satisfaction Guaranteed!" in the description in rather large print.

May 13th--I emailed a question to Mitch through eBay Contact Member when I saw that the FedEx tracking number was NOT from Dallas, TX, but Los Angeles, TX: "Hi there. Thanks for this tracking number. I see that it states Los Angeles, CA. Is this being shipped as a dropshipper item as I see you're located in Dallas, TX? Just curious. And it is new, right? Not refurbished."

May 13th--His reply: "Yes its new and from a distributor."

May 18th--I received the package through FedEx showing that the dropshipper was: WESHIP2U .COM, 1600 Naomi Avenue, Los Angeles, CA, 90021 (111) 111-1111. Interesting phone number! Impossible to contact them. Hmmm.

May 18th--I took MANY pictures of the received product and then promptly began TRYING to contact the seller. He would NOT answer my emails.

PLEASE REFER TO THE OTHER RIPOFF REPORT AGAINST MITCHELL JAY REIFF TO GET THE REST OF THE STORY!!

I AM SUMMARIZING BELOW.

May 18th--My Message through eBay to mitchelljayreiff: "Mitch, My husband says that I should return this immediately, plus send you a bill for $100 for the waste of my time. I want ALL my money back--including shipping--because you misrepresented the product. Plus, it would seem fair that you arranged to having fedex or ups pick up the product from me. I see you are a relatively new seller. This is NO way to build a reputable business by misleading your buyers. I expect to hear from you in a timely fashion with rectifying this issue."

Mitch Reiff did not reply to my emails.

May 18th--Advised eBay through Safe Harbor that item was significantly NOT as described.

May 19th--Opened PayPal Complaint.

May 20th--PayPal--My comments: "Dear Mitchell Reiff, I am NOT look for shipment tracking information.

May 20th--PayPal--My comments: "...I'm asking for returning instructions--where to ship this, if it is your DROPSHIPPER: ... Or if it is someplace else. And I expect a FULL REFUND!"

NOTE: There were subsequent entries into the PayPal log, but for intents of this RipOff Report, the facts have been already stated.

June 3rd--PayPal finally made a determination on my behalf and emailed me to ship the package back to the seller at his Dallas, Texas address. PayPal did NOT advise to ship to WESHIP2U .com [dropshipper] nor did PayPal or seller provide a RMA.

June 3rd--I prepared the package for shipping, USPS priority mail insured $213.25 + signature confirmation for a total of $12.95. I logged into PayPal to provide the shipment tracking information.

June 3rd--Mitch Reiff FINALLY copies me on an email acknowledging that he [or Melinda Carrington] has read the PayPal determination.

It was on June 3, 2006, that I now learned the other individual involved in M&M Distribution, the name of their "eBay Store."

Email Received Sun, 4 Jun 2006 00:27:57
"We don't not accept any returned products without prior notification and provide our own RMA.

NO Returns permitted after 14 days as listed in the advertisement. See line below provided via your webpage and the date.

This transaction has been reversed.
For further details please see transaction #.

We have no idea what her problem is but she received the product. Could have contacted us for a RMA within 7 days for a full refund or replacement. After 7 days there is a 15% restocking fee up to 14 days as listed in the advertisement.

It is past 14 days, PayPal ruled in our favor one this once and held up monies for almost 30days now she files a claim again with no merit.

When this product arrives it will be refused and sent back to shipper per information provide above via your webpage!

June 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th--I have been in contact each day with PayPal and eBay Safe Harbor Department to advise them of the status of the case.

June 5th--Package was shipped back to Mitch Reiff in Dallas TX insured and signature confirmation via USPS priority mail.

June 7th--USPS track and confirm stated that a "notice was left" that delivery had been "attempted."

Since my "case" against Mitchell Jay Reiff and Melinda Carrington was escalated to a claim within PayPal, it has come to my attention that there are about 5 other victims of their eBay auctions.

Negative Feedback has not yet been left by me or about 4 of the buyers who I suspect are trying to work with Mitch to return their REFURBISHED, NOT NEW as stated CAMERAS. It appears as though the seller, Mitch and Melinda are claiming that they made TYPOS and that makes it OK.

I've never received a response from Mitchell Jay Reiff aka Mitch Reiff OR Melinda Carrington with regard to my requesting a RMA to return the refurbished camera that they shipped me telling me that it was BRAND NEW. In June 2006, a Dorothy Reiff had contacted me through eBay's dispute console to tell me Mitch had died. At first, I thought that was true, but upon contacting a few Dallas authorities, it was determined Mitch had moved quickly and was indeed quite alive.

This morning, 2/27/06, after going through my emails regarding Mitch Reiff, I decided to do a "quick" google search on the words: Mitch* Reiff. To my amazement, I found links which told me he was ALIVE not DEAD as I had suspected. I found him active on Stumbleupon and Smugmug. He's writing poetry to sell and has started another medical supply company. He's also selling digital cameras and other electronic products with a new website!

He frauded 6 or more customers on eBay and to my knowledge, he has not made it right. PayPal refunded a portion of my money, but not all of it. And, I mailed the camera back to him as instructed by PayPal.

I hope he is not continuing with his bad business practices.
