Complaint Review: Melissa Broadway

Please stay as far away from Melissa Broadway (or Melissa Garten) of M1 LLC or Bright Agency Group or House of M or We Are Accelerators as you can.

Melissa has stolen money from me, my friends (over $7,500) and my professional colleagues (over $2,000) by preying on the good nature of trusting women who are attempting to build their business and gain publicity.

Melissa has a perfect scam in that she asks you to sign a contract wherein she guarantees that if you do not get the desired outcome (in my case to secure sponsorships for my women's entrepreneurship conference), she will refund you the fees that you have paid to her upfront.  A 'no lose' scenario, right?

She throws around names of clients she's worked for such as Microsoft and Capital One and Inc., Kelly Hoey and Gesche Haas.  Then, she makes you wire money into her account so there is no chance that you can recover the money because she immediately withdraws it and spends it on who knows what?

She keeps stringing you along by telling you she is having all of these conversations with all of these clients who are interested in you and then nothing ever comes to fruition. I asked her several times to let me take part in conversations so that the company could get to know me, and she would never set that up.  I should have spotted that something was fishy immediately.  

Melissa feeds you just enough information and deceives you with her double speak and quick tongue in order to keep you believing her.  She will sweet talk you and tell you how great you are and how she is in alignment with all of the things you value in this world so that she builds a connection with you.  It's a false connection and deception of the worst kind.  I have never met anyone like her.  

Melissa also said she secured speakers gifts for me and that she had items to put in all my gift bags.  She was supposed to come to help me a day early, but never showed up and when she finally did show up she told me a lie about how her plane was diverted and somehow how she left everything in the trunk of her car.  She convinced me to have some women who were her clients speak on panels at my conference and also for me to give several of her clients' booths for free.  This is the way she uses conference organizers to perpetuate the scam and 'tell' her clients that she's justifiably gotten them work.  It's a sick cycle, a sick scam.  

Please do not fall victim to her.  She needs to stop and be held accountable for all the harm she's done in this world.
