Complaint Review: Mellamalta maltese

I just came across this site and was appalled at what I just read from the customer complaining about Millie and Harry.   I purchased my beautiful maltese from them 5 years ago.  We were greeted by Millie, Harry and their family of malteses -- all happy dogs!!  

Millie and Harry kept every single promise they made to us!    We were given the puppy we asked for in the 12 weeks since her birth as promised.  She was healthy and had all the shots necessary for a puppy her age.  We were given all her paperwork, including information about her parents.  

I suffer terrible dog allergies and was very concerned about taking on a new dog in my household.  Millie was very sympathetic to my dilemma and offered to buy back my Roxi if it didn't work out for me due to my severe allergies.   I was convinced that Millie loves her dogs so much she would not want her puppy mistreated if it didn't work out for us.   Millie delivered the puppy to me at the airport complete with paperwork, clean puppy and a stuffed toy with the familiar "dog smell" to keep my new puppy comfortable while she gets accustomed to her new home.

I highly recommend Mella Maltese for your dog purchase.  You won't be disappointed!  Thank you Millie and Harry!  Roxi has been a very special and important part of our family since we brought her home!

I cannot believe the things this person is saying about Millie and Harry. It is nothing but fabrication.
Millie and Harry are two of the nicest people I've met. I called Millie almost three years ago, I had just lost my little maltese a couple of weeks before. She was my sweet baby girl and I was very upset, my heart was breaking. Millie had nothing but compassion for me. I started to cry on the phone and Millie cried with me. I was so impressed with the love that they had for their dogs that I did purchase a puppy from them. She was almost 12 weeks old when I picked her up. She was a little fluffy bundle of joy. She was so beautiful and still is. I did receive a health contract and guarantee. I had her checked by my vet the very next day and she was very healthy. She is my Sweet Candy Kiss and she is pure sweetness and love. Her coat is amazing, she is so beautiful. Her mom and dad are both champions. Millie and Harry are very particular about who they let adopt their puppies.  They want to make sure they get good loving homes. All of their dogs and puppies live in their home and are so loved and well taken care of. They treat them like children. My baby girl was very socialized when I got her and she already knew her name. She was so loving. I could tell that she received a lot of love in her first twelve weeks of life. I have made a life long friend with Millie and I keep in close contact with her and give her pictures of my baby girl. I am so thankful to them for all the joy, love and happiness I get back from my little Candy Kiss. I know that it was all bred in her. They are very good breeders and I would recommend them very highly.  Shame on any one who would fabricate stories about them.

I have 2 of Mille and Harry Schiffer puppies and I would like to tell this person that is making this TOTALLY FALSE statement to really think about what they have done and are saying about these very nice caring people. How would YOU like to have someone say all these TOTALLY FALSE things about you????

I have been to the Schiffer home and it is very clean and ALL the dogs and puppies are VERY VERY WELL CARED FOR. They are all treated as their own pets until they are adopted.

Millie and Harry are very particular with whom them let adopt their dogs. And this sounds like sour grapes as to someone that wouldn't take care of their pups or just wanted them to do illegal breeding.

You must sign a contract and it does state on there to have the PET puppies spayed before papers are issued.

As I stated I do have 2 pups from the Schiffer and they are 6 and 7 years old and VERY HEALTHY and VERY WELL SOCIALIZED girls. I have kept in contact with the Schiffer as I consider them my friends and this accusation is very hurtful to them and all of us that know them.

Please just consider the source of the accusations when you read these comment. I would NOT hesitate for one minute to get another WONDERFUL, BEAUTIFUL, EXTREMLY WELL SOCIALIZED  AND HEALTHY pup for the Schiffer again.

Millie does have extreme issues with her health and hands so she can not work her camera as easily as most people do. Or even get around and walk. We all have our health issues. Their puppies are well worth the wait to be at least 12 weeks old before leaving them. As for them selling a sick puppy...... that is a TOTAL LIE.

As a breeder of Maltese, it is obvious to me this complaint is without substantiation and is pure fabrication. A puppy with this many problems would have never arrived to this person because it would have been dead! A Maltese puppy of this age would not be 'matted to the skin and had to be shaved down'- they don't  have enough hair at this age to be that seriously matted. The average person that wants to buy a pet is not aware that we do not place Maltese puppies until they are 12 weeks old because of their size. They were the ones that refused to take the puppy at 8 weeks and told the breeder the puppy was too young? Hmmm. Sounds very suspicious to me. A breeder that would have puppies in this condition would not last long.

Millie and Harry Schiffer have been breeding Maltese for many years. I have had the privilege of owning two MellaMalta dogs and have nothing but good things to say about the quality. They both arrived free of any fleas, worms or disease and were well socialized. My dealings with Millie and Harry have always been pleasant and they have always honored their word. These are the qualities that are needed for a reputable breeder.

In my opinion the person that filed this complaint needs to take some classes in fictional writing. This story is very poorly written and needs a lot of work!

I am deeply offended that someone can post such lies and vindictiveness. I bought my loving, healthy , well mannered puppy , Gabriella from Millie and Harry almost two years ago.. We were impressed with the love,professionalism, cleanliness and pure sincerity of the well being of their puppies. They breed in their home and treat them as their family. I have recommended five people who have all adopted a puppy and all have been extremely satisfied. I go every where with Gabby. She is a trained therapy dog and every one loves her. Adults, children and other dogs are instantly drawn to her. Besides being adorable, she is full of love. She is beautiful, inside and out. I am a kindergarten teacher and my students adore her. Her father is a doctor and occasionally takes her to the office where she is met with ooh, aahhs and I love hers..

She has the most pleasant personality which I contribute to her first 12 weeks of life before we brought her home. She was treated like a princess. The knowledge and experience that harry and Millie possess is above and beyond any breeder I have ever known. I am seriously consider getting a sister for Gabby and would only consider going to Millie and Harry. I can trust the quality will only b A++. I have the utmost respect and admiration for their gift of breeding.

I can not thank Millie and Harry enough for the gift of bringing Gabby into my life. She is worth every penny for the love, joy and companionship she offers. I can not imagine life with out her. All thanks to Mella malta..

hello first off if you got one of our puppies  you would see the love in our home for our dog's they have free run . if you did not recive your akc papers maybe you did not have your puppie fixed. i belive this report is a hoax i DEMAND THAT THE AUTHUR PROVIDE SOME PROOF THAT THE EVENT REALLY HAPPEN.  IF ANY ONE WANTS TO REACH ME I LIKE TO HEAR FROM YOU ??  IF ANY ONE HAS A REAL COMPLAINT PLEASE  CONTACT ME BECAUSE I CARE ABOUT MY BABIE'S  i dOn't leave my home due to being with my dogs i take them every where with me store. i real breedr is one who don't sleep at night worrying.  my opion is your not bright if you go in a home buy a puppie seeing it was matted as you say buy staTe law the breeder as my self would have to care for the health of the dog i am radomly check by our stae   i must stand up to there stadings i  have nothing on me at all.  IF I'M SO BAD MY BEATIFUL DOG JUST GOT  HIS 4 POINTS TOWARDS HIS CHAMPOINSHIP AND YOU DONT JUST BREED DOGS LIKE THIS WITH OUT LOVE CARING  IT'S BREED IN TO THEM

I think this person is telling lies about Millie Schiffer. She is a very caring breeder. She would never intentionally be dishonest with a puppy buyer. I have several dogs from Millie and they were as represented. I have known Millie for 15 years and I can tell you her puppies get wonderful care and are very socialized when they are sold.

I would like to address the reporter. First, Millie can't work her camera without help. Her hands are very crippled.

Second, she supplies a contract with every puppy. If she would bother to read it, she would see she does not get papers until she sends proof of spay.

 Third, if this is not the puppy you first saw then why did you take it?

Fourth. Millie has a guarantee with all her dogs on any health problems for any hereditary defects.

A little over a  year ago I lost my first Maltese.  Looking for a breeder I found Millie Schiffer at MellaMalta.  After talking with Harry and Millie I came to believe they are reputable breeders and love all their little puppies.

Millie described to me what my little Sunshine would be like in great detail. 

When the time came for me to pick up Sunshine I went to Harry and Millie's home and was greeted by a loving family and well cared for adults and puppies.

Sunshine was nine weeks old when I  got her.

She is more beautiful than I could of ever hoped for.

The report filed about Millie is totally inconsistent with all that I have experienced with her.  Since getting little Sunshine I have kept in touch with Millie to tell her how much I appreciate all she does.

I am writing this rebuttal because I feel very hurt by the negative report about her, a report which is very inconsistent with my experience with MellaMalta.

If you have a legitimate complaint please contact me, I am not sure of who you are or what you are talking about as far as receiving a puppy from me. Also, if this puppy was unsatisfactory to you, why would you purchase it from me?
