I and my spouse sent money orders to Melody Gravitt for a female Chihuahua puppy for $1,200 dollars. We never recieved that puppy. We were told the puppy was to small to fly. Then we were told she died from a liver shunt. We wanted are money back and were very upset. My children were devistated. She will not return my calls or e-mails.I work very hard to support my three children and deserve our money back. This takes my trust away from the site where i founded Melody gravitt. They have done nothing to help me and they say they have checked and all seems great on her part.LIARS!They have not done any investigating i dont feel comfortable purchacing on there site again.I deserve my money back and will not let her get away with the pain she has caused our family.

Melody Gravitt Rips Off Others

#4Consumer Comment

Melody Gravitt seems to be making a habit of ripping people off in other ways. She ripped off myself and MANY others on ebay selling advance copies of Lord Of The Rings 12 DVD sets amongst other things. She never responded to emails or phone calls. The excuse at that time was that her mother died and needed to be with her father for a few weeks.

In future only pay for things by credit card if you can. Most banks have a fraud policy that they will return your money after they have investigated the problem. Luckily I had my mmoney returned.

Since I cannot give you an email address to contact me for the names of OTHER victims, please file a report with the sheriff of LeFlore County, OK. Melody's name is Melody, born in 1968. It appears she has taken her listings off of Puppyfind as I am sure the heat is on now with so many people duped. You might check records in Garfield county and you will find interesting results. Good luck. I only wish I could put all the victims together to join forces!

Why do it this way?

I feel for your loss, both financially and emotionally. I remember when we were going to adopt a dog from a shelter and found out that it died of Parvo the day we were supposed to pick it up. My wife was so sad, even though she had never met the dog...it was a tough time.

I notice, however, that there are a LOT of complaints aginst crappy dog breeders on this site. Typically victims spend big bucks (usually $1000 or more) on a dog that ends up being sick, typically as a result of growing up in a puppy mill environment, or has problems typically due to inbreeding.

I went on petfinder and put into a search a small dog close to King City, California. A few hits were as follows:

Adult American Eskimo dog
Baby Chichuahua/Terrier mix
Young dachshund/chihuhua mix
Young chichuhua
Adult wirehaired terrier/chihuahua
Youg chichuhua
Young chichuhua

...etc. There were lots and lots more.

These dogs may not have papers, and they may be a mixed breed, but you can count on the fact that they are going to be inexpensive, and you are doing a good deed by taking a dog out of a rescue shelter and putting it into your home to give it love. If you are buying a dog for showing/breeding purpose, you're not going to purchase it on the internet sight unseen, anyway (unless you're readlly stupid). If you're looking for a dog that will become a member of your family, I would encourage you to check out the local animal shelters or petfinder.org first. You might be surprised that you find a dog to meet your needs.

We have two dogs, a purebred dachshund and a mixed breed dachshund-terrier. They are awesome dogs, and they were both less than $50.00 as they were rescued from bad situations.

Just a thought...
