Melody's Toy Dogs ripoff artist Talihina Oklahoma
In April 2005 I found on puppyfind.com the cutest toy poodle male. I thought I would get this puppy for my mother. I contacted the person who was selling him. She seemed so nice in all are emails. I am disabled and told Mrs. Gravitt I needed to make payment arrangements. She told me this was ok that she did do this for a lot of people. Since the puppy wasn't ready to go until June I could pay her as much as I could. Needless to say I send her a total of $950. $700 for the pup and $250 flying fee. I never received the puppy or my full refund. She wrote to tell me that she decided to keep the puppy since her daughter fell in love with him. She also went on to say she will return my money. Then someone wrote to tell me Melody had a heart attack and was in the hospital. That my money will be sent to me as soon as she got out. To make a very long and tiring story short I received a total back of $250. Dollars. To date The Gravitt family still owes us $700. Dollars. She is a very horrible person to be able to rip off someone. Please stay away from these people or you may be next.

Heidi, I am soooo glad you have posted a note. Please email Amanda, who was previously scammed by Melody, and ask her to contact me with your email address. Maybe you can all get together and file a joint claim or present this to the district attorney.
Last I heard, the sheriff's department had turned all the complaints over to the FBI. There has got to be something that can be done. There definitely needs to be JUSTICE--there needs to be accountability.
Susan, if you check the reports again, please look through and contact Amanda, the original poster who was duped by Melody. We need numbers. Thanks... Let's keep our fingers crossed and hope that justice is served.

As also one of the victims of Melody Gavitt, I have to say that the Talihina Police Department is not so interested in solving this matter. I have talked to them multiple times and aside from saying: " We are very familiar with melody Gavitt and receive monthly calls from people complaining about her. It is awful," they are not willing to do much more. I asked for a statement from them to present that as evidence in court when I sued Melody, but even after reminding them several times to fax it to me, they never did. Melody escaped from being served and our court dated passed. I will sue her again though and this time catch her!

I used to live in LeFlore County, Ok, and if I were you I would immediately call the Talihina Police Dept. (a very small town) and also the LeFlore County Sheriff's Office. I am sure they would be VERY intersted to know that this woman is doing this type of fraud.
Also, I am sure maybe the IRS would like to know what she is up to! People like her NEVER bother to report what they steal as income! She most likely never reports her "puppy mill" money as income. As most of this part of OK/ARK where LeFlore County is close to is rural to extremely rural puppy mills are a pretty good moneymaker for people!

Melody seems to make it a habit of taking people's money and making excuses as why she can't sell the dog...could it be because the dog has already been sold and she just sells the photo multiple times??? Please click on search on this site and type in "melody". You will find her listed under corrupt companies and animal abuse as well.
Please contact the LeFlore County sheriff and report this...also go to the FBI website and report her for Internet Fraud and crime. She has a criminal record under her maiden name for grand larceny. These victims need to join together to shut her down. Her puppies are not healthy and she even photographed one for sale and posted it's photo among garbage and bare dirt, tin cans littering the ground and filth. A humane society needs to investigate her.
I'm sorry you didn't receive your money. Maybe the sheriff will get enough complaints and really do something about this fraud scheme...interest-free money for nothing!! Please don't give up...seek help through the legal system. THERE ARE MANY VICTIMS....and they've all heard the same excuses and lies. They've even been emailed from supposedly different people (probably Melody herself most likely) giving the victim some sob story about why they're not getting their puppy or money. I find it interesting that one person even posted that Melody was scamming people on Ebay, selling DVDs...or~~~ahem~~~collecting money for them and not delivering.
