On 11/30/2007; I went on the internet and used yellowpages.com to find a phone number for a friend, I was charged $2.95; I used my debt card, I checked my checking account the next day, and found that I was also charged $14.95; to a company called 24Protect Plus, I have never heard of them. I found a phone number of 800-211-9749; and called this company.

I spoke with a man that would not give his name, he stated that when I agreed to pay the $2.95 for the informatin that I requested, that I also choose to agree to become a member of there company for $14.95; I informed him that I had never agreed to such a things, he stated that maybe I clicked on the agreed button by mistake, and was charged for this, I told him that was not true, and I wanted him to correct this error, he stated that was my problem and would not say anything else.

On 12/4/2007; I tryed to call the 800# again, and no one will answer! I was totally riped off.

I had to call my bank and cancell my debt card. I tell you some people are really messed up in this world.

How to get your refund from Memberworks

#5UPDATE EX-employee responds

Sun, November 09, 2008

I am an ex-employee of Memberworks Canada. Most of what needs to be said about them has already been said by Robbie, so I'll make this short.

Unless anything has changed since I was working for this sleazebag company, here's how you should be able to get your money back.

Before calling them (I believe the number is 800-211-9749), make sure to have your bank representative on the line to supervise the call. The employees are under strict order to only give refunds if a customer clearly states specific words. So, you must say that you did not *AUTHORIZE* these payments, and that you would like a *FULL REFUND ON THE FULL AMOUNT*. I advise you to say those words exactly, otherwise you may not get what you're asking for. After that, ask them to remove all of your information and place your number on the "Do-not-call" list.

Here are all of the so-called Membership Programs they "offer", which you will see on your statement:

Galleria
ValueMax
Privacy Plus
Privacy Matters Identity
Privacy Matters 1-2-3
