Fellow consumer electronic buyers, Do not purchase from Mem King Inc!!

In August of 2011, my company purchased what we thought would be 30 x Dell Laptops GRADE A (meaning like new condition with minimal cosmetic issues) These are supposed to be Working condition with Windows operating system installed. This information was on the invoice we received as well as detailed communication via email by my sales rep and Mem Kings sales rep. 

Communication was great until right after we paid.   1 week went by without any confirmation after numerous attempts at getting a tracking number.  We eventually did receive the product (two weeks later, tracking never emailed) but upon inspection we immediately realized the product was not as described. 

The product we received had numerous issues, including but not limited to: 

  • Dead batteries

  • sharpie pen written on outside casings, outside of keyboard

  • scratched screens

  • dents 

  • NO Operating System with no disk to even install

  • Faulty hardware on some of the units (some units would not start up, black screen)
Once we realized these issues, it became a huge concern for us. We called them and sent multiple emails with no response.  Finally, we were able to get in contact with there sales department.  At first, they were apologetic and said it was a "warehouse shipping mistake" and would issue us replacement laptops asap.

Mem King emailed us prepaid shipping labels and we got the product out the door ame day. At this point we began to feel like we were being taken care of, however this was not the case. 

Once the items were shipped back to there warehouse, we didn't hear from them at all. Communication completely stopped.  Every time we called and asked for our sales rep., another co-worker would put us on hold then come back to tell us "they are out to lunch." This literally was the same excuse each and every time we called. We must have called 50 times over the span of 2 weeks.  

With absolutely no communication, there was no other option than to file a charge-back with American Express.    

As a final attempt. We called, demanded to speak to anybody in charge and got a fellow named Chris on the phone. Chris told me he is the General Manager.  

I explained the situation to Chris and he proceeded to tell me that WE (My Company) were the Scam Artists.  He threatened me, called me names, was extremely rude on the phone. What kind of company lets a man like that be the general manager? 

American Express is currently investigating the claim

Mem king Inc. runs a corrupt, unethical operation...NEVER buy from them or there is a good chance this will happen to you or your company!!!
