On 5-31-02, I had my car washed at the XpressAuto located at 325 W. Memorial Road, Oklahoma City, OK,and they tore a hole in the tint film on one of the windows. .

When I got my car back, I saw the tint film had been peeled back from the scrape, leaving a hole in the film. I discussed this with Jon Eberle, who identified himself as a manager. I asked him to pay the cost of replacing the film tint on that one window. His response was as follows:

1 I'm not responsible for what my employees do.
2 I don't know what condition it was in when it came in.
3. I can't pay for partial damage. I can only pay for full damage. (I don't know what this means; I'm only reporting what he said.)

I offered to point out the two men who worked on my car, so Mr. Eberle could talk with them, but he refused to do so. In the meantime, the two employees had left the work area. I think this was because they knew they had damaged my car, and they thought they were in trouble when they saw me talking to the manager.

I have obtained an estimate for replacing the film on that one window. The estimate is enclosed. I would like the company to pay the cost of replacement ($35.00) or give me certificates for three free washes (approximately a $30 value). This seems a small price to pay for continued good customer relations.

Since I didn't get any help from the manager, I have referred this matter to our state Attorney General. I will add an update when I know how that turns out
