Received a utility bill from MLGW (Memphis, Light, Gas & Water) for August, 2010.  All of my bills for electric only for the past 5 years is no more than $150-$170 a month.  I just had 3 grand-children and one great-grand in my home for 30 days and my bill did not go over this amount, even with the heat wave.  I received a bill for $500.00 for electric.  Yes! $500.00.  When I husband called the company as usual you talk to a customer service representative that has to shoot something out at you.  In this case, "We were under charged last month".  Considering I have worked as a customer representative for approximately 20 plus years, I know the game of internal emails, etc.  So, I told my husband to try again. Ask for a Supervisor.  Ok, sending someone out to read the meter again. Did I tell you, I received a new meter. Don't know why? I don't see anyone else in the neighborhood with a new one.  New electric amount: $268.00. Are you kidding me?  Rip Off. I still had to pay over $100.00 extra.  Companies know how to break you down and you get tired of fighting.
