Everything written here until this very posting is unfounded, slanderous, cruel and incorrect. Menachem Treivush was my landlord at the Charlie for a year. The tenants at The Charlie are professionals who maintain private, respectable lives. Some have lived there for years. Menachem has restored an historical and cultural landmark to perfection for the world to enjoy. He did this with vision, love, attention to detail and great personal sacrifice. The rent I paid is competitive and fair. The Charlie is an idyllic contemplative and inspiring escape. It is absolutely confounding that anyone would malign the man behind the restoration of this 'secret garden' and safe-house. Menachem cooks breakfast and lunch for his tenants daily and personally. His staff is hard working, courteous and dignified. The tenants there would rally behind him and substantiate these truths: he is a man of fine character, he has a deep sense of community, family and an understanding of the creative spirit. Contact the city of west hollywood and the Mayer for substanition of my statements. Whoever you are-the writers of these mean and nasty statements-- you owe this man an apology.
