After returning the Jeff Paul marketing kit (because it deals with creating a product to sale, etc which I am not a product creator), I received an unsolicited call from the Jeff Paul group, stating that that they are looking for a success story in Wisconsin and I fit the profile. I ask Brandon Godfrey(one of Jeff Paul's professionals) to lay out for me the plan for making a lot of money if I need to invest $5425 to get started. Mr. Godfrey shared that I was going to have 24 hour hotline support, I would be able to bring in between $10-$200 a day in revenue from my websites and that I would see this income as soon as my sites were up. He continued to give me examples of other people's success, more specifically a 7th grader who was able to make $6,000 in the first month and that the process was easy. He also had given me his direct phone number so I can contact him with any questions. After about an hour of conversation with Brandon Godfrey and his lies, I agreed to pay to the $5400 for the program.

By paying this $5400 I would receive 5 websites, unlimited tech support, and teleseminars with Jeff Paul. According to Mr. Godfrey, I was supposed to pay $8400 but he was going to give me a scholarship because they needed a success story in Wisconsin. Mr. Godfrey also stated that once the websites were up (in 2-3 weeks) the 5 sites created for me would be ready to start making money. Although, Mr. Godfrey did not guarantee that I would make money he did however assure me that due to the fact that I was chosen to be a success story, I would have PHONE support, and extra attention shown to me from start to finish of the program.

So believing this I agreed to become a member of the Jeff Paul Internet Apprentice Program and paid the $5425 on my credit card (on Oct. 21) and prepared myself to start making money. I then was sent to some person that would be recording my statements. When I was asked could you testify that no one promised you would be make money? I hesitated and said you need to send me back to Brandon. When I talked with Brandon, he said I should say No because I was a success story and would have a different experience then others.

Here is when it gets really out of hand On December 10th my websites were up (after numerous calls/e-mail wondering what the hold up was). 2-3 weeksYeah right! I have numerous questions/concerns with the websites. There is no hotline only an e-mail that I can send questions to. It took 2-3 days to get responses and another 2-3 days if they didn't answer my question. Now I am frustrated! It's the end of December and I haven't made any money and the websites are not what I expected. So I call to make a complaint and I get Angie H. the committee member that is assigned to my complaint. I'm soo upset I can't share my frustrations so I ask my girlfriend to explain it all.

My girlfriend puts the conversation on speaker phone and I hear Angie tell my girlfriend He signed the contract, so he's not getting his money back! My girlfriend tells Angie H. that he was misled and that the program isn't what he was told it would be. Again, Angie states He signed the contract and that he would not be getting his money back! Angie could care less that the company that she represents is fraudulent. My girlfriend shared with Angie the conversation that we had with Brandon, and Angie replied, I've known Brandon for a long time, I doubt that he would tell you something that was untrue. What?? How is it possible to have a complaint committee when the committee is biased? After getting no where with Angie H., I contacted my attorneys the next day. They advised me to contact the Department of Agriculture, Trade, and Consumer Protection with my complaint (thank goodness I took a lot of notes from the conversations) and if there are other people in the state of Wisconsin having similar problems they may go after the company themselves. My attorney is doing there own investigation but if the Department of Agriculture, Trade, and Consumer Protection can help, that helps me.

I should hear something soon. I hope these people are held accountable for their lies. For me it wasn't about making the fortune as much is was about the process and how difficult and time consuming it really is. Had Mr. Godfrey told me that it will take 2 months for your website to be up, you will not have 24 hour hotline access, you will have to pay additional money in hosting accounts to have your websites live, the websites will not generate money when you have them up- you will need to do additional advertising and put in 20+ hours a week to begin to make your fortune and by the way there is no guarantee that you will make the money that you put in. I would tell them.HELL NO and DO NOT CALL ME AGAIN!

I hope this report warns anyone who is ever taken down this path of lies from the Mentoring America (Jeff Paul) group.

#2Consumer Suggestion

Sat, September 09, 2006

Matthew,

Can you give us an update on the outcome?

I see that you filed a consumer complaint form with the Utah Division of Consumer Protection. Mentoring of America has give full refunds to everyone who has filed this complaint that I have seen on this site for far. Myself included. One person did sign and return the "Enrollment Confirmation" or contract back to them, and still got a full refund. I still have my unsigned original copy, and nowhere on it does it ever mention a no refund policy of any kind.
