Complaint Review: Mephrules (Gareth Phillips)

1. Bought a phone on ebay. I contacted sprint to activate the phone and they told me that there is a balanced owed $348.95 from the previous owner and that they could not turn it own until the bill was paid.

2. I emailed the seller and this is what he said in a return email. (Umm there shouldn't have been... I guess you can send it back and ill refund your money? this has never happened before.)

3. (Note he said "I guess you can send it back and ill refund your money) I guess. (And he calls himself a business man.

4. He said that he would refund the price for the phone and only half $14.95 shipping charge. (Why only half)

5. Now I'm feeling that I have been scammed and contacted paypal to resolve this.

6. He emails me back angry and said that paypal froze his account.

THIS SELLER IS A REAL TURD, THERE IS NO WAY THAT I WOULD BUY ANYTHING FROM HIM AND WOULD ADVISE EVERYONE TO DO THE SAME

IF HE HAD OFFERED FULL REFUND, THERE WOULD NEVER HAD BEEN A PROBLEM

December 2005: Paypal ruled in favor of the scum bag seller, he knows how to beat the system. Don't trust this seller for he can't totally be trusted. You may have a happy ending or you may have one like I have had. He screwed me and he may screw you.

If you are going to buy from an ebayer, look for one that has 100% feedback and has sold many items like you are going to bid on.

Don't think that because you pay using paypal that you are protected, you are not protected. After you file a claim, it takes up to 45 days before you get an answer about your claim. There customer service and dispute resolution needs major improvement. Don't buy anything electronic on ebay. Go to a store or good website to buy that type of item.
