Mercedes Benz Of Encino (formerly Auto Steigler) Rip-off attempt of an out of town buyer Encino California
I am a Colorado resident and wanted to buy a MB from a state without snow. I called MB Encino and stipulated that I would only buy if I did not have to pay CA sales tax as CO is much less and I live there. I was told "no problem" and given a spiffy little sticker to put on my windshield until I registered the vehicle with CO and get CO tags. Paid cash. I was told the ownership papers would be sent to me after processing through CA Dept of Motor Vehicles. I drove to CO and waited and waited. Finally, I called and was told by the Finance Guy, a guy who looks like he lifts weights daily and seemed very pleased with himself that I would have to pay $1500 sales tax to CA before they would send the pink slip. I told him that this was not the deal and he said in effect "too bad". I asked to speak to his boss but he said it goes no higher than himself. I fortunately paid by Mastercard and waited until I got the pink slip before I disputed the charge. I sent all my documents to Mastercard and won the dispute. I sent a letter to John Steigler as well the manager of MB Encino. No response. Never ever will I trust these guys. Keep all your documents and use a credit card if you suspect any funny business. Mastercard has more lawyers than MB. My MB days are over forever.

I found this on a blog called " MBWorld.org
Paul Tanner, great guy??? That is why he is under FBI Investigation for Identity theft, burglaries and embezzlement and a lot more. He was arrested two weeks ago and fired from Encino MB. So do not be surprised if you have serviced or purchased your vehicle from Encino and you'll be contacted by FBI for questioning. I would stay away from that dealership.
I was alos ripped off a few months ago and am going to court.
