Receieved a pre-recorded phone call to call 888-249-4134 stating it was not a solicitation call that it was urgent. Phoned them immediately and was placed on the line with a collection representative stating that my un-paid debt from BofA has been placed with them to collect and I owed $5,834.39.

I stated that they were mistaken, that I didn't have a credit card with BofA, this was the very first time I have heard of this, and she stated firmly that I in deed owe this money and she needs to collect it NOW. I asked for the account number she gave it me and I told the angry representative that this was a mistake and I needed to speak with a supervisor. I was transfered, but never connected to a supervisor.

I phoned back, got to speak with Mr. Ramsey, and informed him there has been a mistake and he stated that there was no possible way this was a mistake, I just neglected to pay my bill and they are going to collect one way or another. I asked to have BofA's phone number, he transfered me to a fictious supervisor that never came on the line.

I contacted BofA, and spoke to Amber, and told her about the phone call I received from Merchandt Credit. She typed in my SS# on her system and found no record of debt owed. She agreed to a 3-way phone call while I called Merchant Credit and the entire time we tried to get to the bottom of the mysterious debt that I owed, the represenative was rude, he talked over us, he stated by law he couldn't talk to me with the BofA represenative on the phone that it was un-lawful for him to do so, we requested a supervisor and as before, the phone was never transfered.

Amber suggested to Google the 888 number and I came across The Rip-off website. I am taking all necessary precautions and checking my credit reports. In the mean time I called and asked for Daniel Burtis the scum bag president of the company and got through and told him that he was invoilation of the law trying to collect a debt that was discharged in a medical bankrutpcy over 12 years ago. I told him that if anyone from his company calls me again, I will sue him!

Thanks you for allowing me to vent my frustration.
