Complaint Review: Merchant Technical Solutions

1. I called Discover to cancel my merchant account because fees were too high

2. I was told Discover charges no fees, despite seeing a $49.95 per month deduction from my account by Discover, which I assumed was merchant account fees.

3. Discover said the deduction was from a company called Merchant Technical Solutions and they would connect me. Discover said it's some type of support service.

4. I called Merchant Technical Solutions at 888-673-1308 and spoke with Carlo? at extension 5247 who said I signed up for the service on June 14th. I've never ordered anything from a telemarketer and especially not a support service

5. I requested a recording of the call, which they said they have and they will call me by Friday, June 11, 2008 with that recording that shows my authorization of their service.

6. When I asked for a full refund, I was told I would only see a $49.95 credit for the previous month. They will attempt to pay it to Discover, but since my account was closed today, they'll wait for the credit to be denied and will then send a check

7. I've requested full reimbursement of $49.95 per month for the past 12 months, or $599.40 total

I will post a follow up as more happens. I was told to call another manager, Cynthia at x5245 if I don't hear from them by the end of the week with my phone recording.
