Merchantman Auctions Willie McCoy Knowingly Sold me a fake 1909 T206 Ty Cobb Rookie Davie Florida
Around January, 2022 I purchased/won a 1909-11 T206 Green Portrait Ty Cobb baseball card from Merchantmen Auctions in Davie, Fl. Prior to purchasing, I had asked if the card was in fact autentic or not to which the owner of the auction, Willie McCoy assure me was real and would gaurantee it with a money-back refund.
The card took a few weeks to be shipping (after many reminders to Willie), I recieved a card on or around February 15th, 2022 which was not even the card that I had purchased. I immediately called Willie and he said it was an error and that he would be sending me the real card.
The card I purchased eventually shipped and I recieved it and sent it to PSA to have it authenticated/graded after which it came back as a fake/reprint. I notified Willie immediately but he did not return my calls, emails or texts. I finally threatend him with legal action and he said he would be sending a cheque for the refund (this was in early March).
Weeks went by and I still did not receive a cheque at which point he stated that he would be paying me in installments via wire transfer. He has yet to send in a wire transfer even though I sent him instructions 2 weeks ago. He has now gone dark and is not returning my calls or emails.
