I also received a letter, dated Oct. 4, 2004, from Ken Hughes of Merchants' Credit Guide Co. representing Pinnacle Credit Services for an large alleged debt to Sears. I was in shock as I barely remember owning a Sears credit card it must have been so long ago and I certainly would have remembered owing them that kind of money! My credit report is clear. This is the first I have ever heard of any such debt. I am sending them a letter via certified mail today disputing this and telling them not to contact me again. I can't believe this company can get away with this.

i know what u are going through i have been a victim of credit card fraud and have taken every step to resolve it funny thing is i sent a dispute to nco financial and in the mist of the dispute they sold the account to merchants credit guide. what you need to do is not only write to them but call the company that had the orginal account most places will have your accounts on file. also see if u saved old bills from that place that granted u a credit card. if that does not work call the ftc and bbb also get some legal advice you can even fill out a police report if u want to go that far i only recommend it if you are a victime of id theaft like i was. thing is she used my ss under her name so its harder to get info
