Merchants Credit Guide Company is very corrupt .I think everyone who has had to talk to them kwows that. They are trying to collect on a very old debt(9years old).According to the Federal Trade Commission , the Fair Credit Reporting Act states that any entity that reports information to credit bureaus about a delinquent consumer account that has been placed for collection or written off must report the actual month and year the account first became delinquent. In turn ,this date is used by the credit bureaus to measure the maximum 7 year reporting period the Fair Credit Reporting Act mandates.

Merchant's obviously does not care that they are in violation of a federal law ,because they fraudulently use an incorrect date of delinquency .The Federal Trade Commission has been notified and a complaint has been filed .It is not uncommon for a collection agency to try anything to get money , but you need to stand up to them ,do your homework ,and tell them to shove it up there a*s like I did .
