Merchant Credit Guide Co., is a junk debt buyer. The company purchased an old consumer debt that I had filled bankruptcy on in 1985. The comapny contacted me on (Saturday) January 8' 2006 (some 20 years later), in attempt to collect the said debt in question. The company had stated in writing on their letter head, in an attempt to collect on a 20 year old debt, that they were collecting the debt on behalf of their client:CFB Financial III LLC. whom they stated and hired them to collect $2,772.99 .

I informed the company as to my concerns as to how they were attempting to collect on an 20 year old Bankrruptcy account. All of a sudden the company statrted to tell me to just forget it - when I stated that I would sue them. The comapny then stated that they were looking for another indivisual " with my name I must add" the company stated that " my name was a common name - but traced me based upon my SSN. The company even wrote me using my maddian name - upon which I have not used in 18 years.
Ripp Off !

I informed the company that this was a rip off , and an fraud attempt, and then I contacted NBC News Consumer Fraud Invesigation here in Los Angeles to tell them the rip - off that this comapny was trying to pull.

I also contacted CBS 2 News in Chicago Illions and was given the E - Mail address of their fraud investigator Ellein Barry ( Please E - Mail her if anyone was victim to the fraud - she can be found on the internet under CBS 2 News Chicago Illions, she is an News Invesigator.

I also contacted Chicago Sun Times and informed them of the fraud that this company was trying to pull. It is important to get the news out, by contacting the consumer fraud investigators - they will investigate the cases(News and Paper)people. So make sure where ever you are to call your local news station and paper.

The company Merchants Credit Guide Co.must be put on expose!! BY ANY MEANS NESSARY!!

PLEASE CONTACT YOUR LOCAL NEWS STATIONS AND LOCAL PAPERS WITH THE RIP OFF'S THE CONSUMER NEED NOT BE A VICTIM - THE CONSUMER NEEDS TO BE INFORMED!!

It's quick and easy at www FTC gov.

Also the fact that they pulled your credit to track you on a time barred and uncollectable debt, they violated thier agreement with the credit bureaus and violated federal law for pulling credit without permissible purpose.

You are entitled to damages.

You need to file a lawsuit in federal court for the violations of your rights. Each violation is worth at least $1000 to you. I have counted at least 3 violations of your rights here.
