Merchants Credit Guide, Ken Hughes Ripoff Debt Collection Scam and phone calls Chicago Illinois
Received letter with all the same info about making payments about 3 days ago and recieved the phone call late this afternoon just as most others have reported. Received the same letter last year & ignored it then, too!
My husband didn't have a debt with the company mentioned although it could be his dad's. Same name only he died about 15 years ago. After "Googling" Ken Hughes I found this site -
Lots of people in the same boat with great suggestions including sending them a Cease & Desist letter stating in the letter that the SOL is long since expired.
There should be a law against this kind of ripoff- Feel sorry for the people they're able to scare into to giving them many. Many are probably elderly than can't afford to give them any money. I hestitate to even call the 888 number- don't want to verify that we heard from them!
