I purchased Frontline Plus for dogs for my Jack Russell Terrier about two weeks ago. It states it kills fleas, flea eggs, larvae, ticks, and chewing lice; it also states to use it once per month, and that it is guaranteed or they will refund your money or replace the defective product. I have used this product during the spring and summer for my dog for several years; off and on I have had problems with this product.

On 05/07/2013, I bathed my dog and applied the treatment to her after she was dry. On 05/17/2013, I began seeing flea dust again on my dog. On 05/19/2013, larave were moving and she had another flea infestation; therefore, I bathed her again and applied another flea treatment. But this time, I decided to contact Merial limited to complain about the product.

I spoke to Ebony on 05/20/2013. Despite what the product advertises on the box, she stated that if you take your dog outside, it will get fleas again and the product will not kill them; she stated it only kills the larvae and the eggs. I asked to speak to a supervisor, Jeremy, and he essentially advised me the same thing. In addition, despite the box stating they will replace the item or refund your money if you are not satisfied, they expect you to provide receipts of flea treatment on ALL DOGS IN THE HOUSEHOLD; this is not mentioned on the satisfaction guaranteed section of the box.

Since my mother lives with us and has a dog, we have to provide a receipt on her. But we cannot provide it, because it was purchased well over a year ago; we simply do not keep receipts that long. Merial Limited fails to list this disclaimer on their merchandise; therefore, this should be considered false advertising in addition to stating that it lasts 30 days (it does not), it kills fleas, eggs, and larvae (it does not), and it is waterproof (my vet told me it is not and to reapply if I bathe my dog). So I have filed a complaint with the BBB of Duluth, the Attorney General's office for false advertising, the FTC, and the FDA. Apparently I might also need to file a report with the EPA; they oversee pesticides.

Considering I paid $80 for eight treatments (buy six, get two free), I think this product is a complete rip off. In addition, their customer service is extremely poor; they to not back their product despite their label implying they do. What a joke.
