It is Saturday morning and I opened a letter received at my PO Box stating I won $250K from meridian IQ Financial Services. There was also a check enclosed for $2,996.80 for me to deposit for administration fees. As I looked at the letter, there were several typos and grammatical errors. Now what kind of company would send a letter out like this and not have it prooread.

There was a number for me to call and I did. When a man by the name of BOB-Customer Service ID BOB107-answered he sound shocked that I called (on the letter it stated to call between 9:30AM - 5:30 PM ET). I guess it threw this person off guard being that it was a Saturday morning-not professional at all. You could tell this man was at home. He also had a French accent.

I began interrogating him and asking him how did he get my name and he said from the internet, which was possible. I asked him was this a loan and various other questions. Then he proceeded to tell me that WalMart and other welll known companies have invested in supporting this cause. He began asking me if my bank was open today and I told him no. He also asked if I had access to an ATM so I could deposit this check.

I told him yes. Then he wanted me to call him on Monday after I had completed the transaction with my bank to verifiy the delivery of the $250,000 that will be delivered by UPS within 5 days. I told him OK and hung up the phone.

What this told me is he more than likely would be watiing for my account to hit his system so he could have access to my funds in my account--I don't think so.

I immediately got on the internet to conduct some investigation and to my "surprise" this is a bogus company. Through this awesome website, I am able to add my comment for all who might be scammed --if you are a winner, "winner beware." If it sounds to good to be true, then it probably is!
