On a recent trip to New York, I took my nieces (15 and 18). One afternoon, they went out shopping on their own and, unfortunately, found Meridian. My youngest niece purchased a dress there. When she returned to the hotel, she tried it on and we found that a portion of the mesh hem on the dress had been torn away and there was no way to repair it.

We returned to Meridian, the only other dress they had that was the same had the identical problem. We asked for our money back. There was a sign posted above the register saying "no refund" and they refused. My nieces looked through the store to find something else to buy, however, everything they found also had a defect. My husband was along and he noticed a good portion of the clothes in the store had hems or seems coming apart, missing buttons etc.

No wonder they say "no refund". Since we live in California and since my niece could not find anything else, she wound up loosing her $60. I can't believe a store can feel good about ripping off a 15 year old. The "no refund" sign should not apply if they sell defective merchandise.
