I am a senior citizen that have a home based business writing books for children. During a very pressing time in my life I entertained a salesperson that worked for Merrimac/ AppStar. I was told this heavy machinery would be an asset to my business. I agreed and signed some papers and later recieved the equipment.

After one usage of the equipment and seeing the fees in using the equipment I deemed the whole process cost me more than my business generated for me. I called the representative back and tried to return the equipment about 3-4 weeks after seeing it would not profit me to have it.

I Understood later that this process had two companies involved so I contacted AppSTAR the people dealing with the processing part of my problem. I was asked to write a letter and fax to them that I no longer needed their services which I did. I have documentations of everything I have connected to this case. They let me opt out but not with a payment arrangement - they simply deducted almost $700 dollars from my checking account without notice. This was fine with me as I figured I would not have to deal with them again . Honestly they have not bothered me since.

My next step was to return Merrimac their equipment. I had a notarized statement that I INCLUDED with their equipment stating that though thier terms and agreements indicated a scam I WOULD pay the monthly $53.59 from my debit card and not from the assigned checking account. I have a signature claim from the UPS that they recieved the machine and they are still trying to pull money from my checking account.I closed the account several times and they repeately open it back up rendering me an overdraft in this account.

This company is not trying to help consumers they are trying to get money from a machine leasing service anyway they can get the money. They have their property in good condition and still want money from a contract they was not in use during the time I HAD it but once. I sent the machine back in good faith that they would honor the fact I never used the machine for anything other than testing it to see if it may be something I could use. Why would a company have this kind of terms and agreement not allowing clients to test and see what they are getting and charge this kind of money when they have their eqipment back? If I lease a car and break the lease I return the car. It seems they are punishing people for not wanting to lease their equipment.
