Metro Athletic Club PRO Fitness Charged me, Not a member, called me, I won free membership. NOT FREE. Hidden Fees lafayette Indiana
(11/10/13). I was contacted by phone from Pro fitness of Lafayette, Indiana. The lady had told me that I had won a free membership and that all I had to do was come-in and sign the contract. 11/11/13) I had gone in and one of the staff walked me around the facility and then took me to a table and told me to start signing and initialing. Once we got to the bottom, I was told that I owed $298.00. They had already had my card information, because he had asked for it while I filled-out my name and address information.
It was too late. I couldn't do anything about it. I told him that I couldn't pay all that up front, so he split it into 2 payments. I used that membership maybe twice out of the 24 month contract that I had supposedly won. In October of 2015, I took a written note that stated that I did not want to continue my membership once the 24 months had expired. The front desk clerk told me that I didn't need the note and that he will cancel it right away.
Today (01/24/16) I check my bank account and find that Metro Athletic Clubs has charged me twice. $68.90 (1/20/16) and $19.95 (1/22/16). I do not have a membership and did not authorize these transactions. I have called thrice times and have been hung-up on all three times. I was not aggressive and did not yell or cuss. I was calm and began to mention that they charged my account mistakenly twice. That is it. Nobody is on the other line anymore. Lost call. All I want is my money back and for this company to be set straight. I will call again in the morning and try again, but this is not right!
