Metro I Buy Houses Rip-Off Purchased our mortgage, then stopped making payments Dallas & Fort Worth Area Texas
04/2004 - We were looking to sell our house quick for our own reasons. The house was in decent condition, but needed some work, so we were not looking to make a profit, just get out of the house. We decided to sell our house to one of those "We Buy Ugly Houses" outfits at what was left on the mortgage. A brief search on the net, here included, turned up nothing suspicious.
They came over shortly after, did an inspection, agreed the deal could be made and we signed all the forms to transfer the house to them. They assured us that they have had no problems with the process, ever. (Lied http://aireo.com/bbs/phase2/37341.shtml - note the case filed date)
At first there didn't seem to be any catches or problems, then they pretty much stopped making payments. After making 2 payments they became extremely difficult to reach. As of now I have left a dozen messages at their office and have not received any callback. Today (10/9/04) I discovered they have court cases pending against them.

James Bryan Cosper, Tonya J. Cosper (aka Tonya Holden) Preferred One in Cahoots? This is my report and I am just posting an update. These guys could still be at it. Don't let them steal your home!
Check for 2 other reports on these guys On This Very Site! Report: #258646 and Report: #114528
They may still have a pending case against them: http://cc.co.tarrant.tx.us/CivilCourts/ccl/CCLGetCaseDetailPop.asp?SearchType=L&Court=CCL3&Docket=2005030586&Case=1860172
How do they do it? They sign the papers with you at your home, then flip it to a bank, they've used Preferred One with my house and with Charles's (report 258646). Then they take the money and run! They never properly file the papers with the county or any other entity, or if they do, they do it improperly so as to leave themselves without any responsibility.
