Metropolitan Educational Enterprises knocked on my door in 2003 in our apartment in Copperas Cove (stationed at Fort Hood, TX). My husband and I thought it was a great way to get college done. We also got the free set of encyclopedia books. However, it wasn't as the salesman had said. It was CLEP books that were delivered, not college courses. We chose the monthly payments, and have since paid them off (before learning about this website). But now I want others to know that this company does go after military families. They are wrong in doing so. My husband was an E-2 at the time. We were just starting out and had our eight month old daughter at the time. We were only 19 and didn't know any better. They took advantage of us, thats done with. I don't want to see it happen again to any others.
