Complaint Review: Mexico Paradise Getaways

Based on the stories I have read, I have gotten off easy so far. Yet I am still extremely annoyed at this situation.

I had booked a trip with my then boyfriend to go to Mexico via the "free" voucher we received after sitting in on the "90 minute" presentation in Grand Rapids, MI with Mexico Paradise Getaways.

We sent in our $100 deposit, received an email with our travel information, and everything was set.

However, my then boyfriend and I broke up and he decided he did not want to go on the trip.

I was told that he needed to mail his portion of the fight cost to Mexico Paradise Getaways, attention Chuck Snow. He did this over one month ago and the check was cashed within 5 days.

I am scheduled to leave for Mexico this Saturday. However, last week I received information that my ex's check was "never received" and that there was "no way in hell" I was getting on that plane until they received "proof" that their company deposited the check.

In the past 4 days, two faxes have been sent; neither of which were received. I have been told that my ex was "lying" and that he never actually sent the fax. I KNOW that he sent the fax. I have seen the printed reports that the fax went through.

We have now decided to email a scanned copy of the documentation to the customer "service" email address. I will wait to find out, I am sure, that they "never received" this email as well.

I have advised my ex to close his bank card as they have threatened to charge $2,500 to his card. This number is clearly taken out of thin air because I have email documentation showing the cost of the flight. It is nowhere near this amount.

These people are rude, morons, and completely out of their minds. Even if I do end up getting to go on this trip, I will feel the same way as I do now.

I have been getting bamboozled by these people for weeks now. Clearly my intelligence is being tested here.
