We have been living in extremely hot triple digit Texas summer weather with no air conditioning for over 2 weeks now. I have asthma and explained to Meyagies that this is an emergency medical situation. Meyagies has sent out 4 different technicians over the past 2 weeks. Our outside condensing unit is almost 30 years old. The 1st technician misdiagnosed the problem and said we just needed a compressor and new refrigeration line. Days later, the 2nd & 3rd technicians came out and replaced the compressor and refrigeration line based on the 1st technicians diagnosis. Within 30 minutes after they left, our air conditioner stopped working. We immediately called Meyagies and asked them to send the technicians back out because they didn’t fix our air conditioner. The technician called my husband and said he thought the fan and motor might need to be replaced. After many more unsuccessful calls to their office that day, the “new” rude receptionist with no customer service skills said they would need to send someone else out to re-diagnose the problem and they wouldn’t be able to come out until the following afternoon. Meanwhile, we called our home warranty company and they recommended we call a 24 hour emergency AC service, which we did and one of their technicians came out and diagnosed the problem as “the AC unit is obsolete and needs to be replaced”.

This is the same thing that another AC company had told us last year, but since the unit was still working he said the home warranty company wouldn’t replace it until it failed. The emergency AC tech would not even touch the unit because it was so old and he said Meyagies either installed a faulty compressor or they didn’t pull a vacuum on the compressor, the fan and the motor also needed to be replaced in addition to a whole list of other items and he said it would be cheaper to replace the whole unit. He said he didn’t want us to waste our money on him trying to bandaid the unit and trying to fix something that Meyagies did incorrectly in the first place. The 4th technician that Meyagies sent out looked at the unit and said it needed to be replaced. So, now we have 3 different companies all agreeing that the AC unit needs to be replaced, and one of them is Meyagies. If the 1st technician at Meyagies would have been competent and diagnosed the problem correctly, we would be living comfortably in this hot July heat. I would not recommend anyone using this company based on our experience. The office personnel and the technicians (with the exception of the 4th technician) are incompetent. I will update this review accordingly once all of these problems are resolved.

The company finally sent technicians #5 and #6 out and they replaced our outside unit. They had to rig it up so it was running constantly and said our thermostat needed to be replaced and they would need to pick one up from their shop. They said they would return the next day to install the new thermostat. They NEVER showed up and NEVER called! We had to keep all of the windows and doors open with the AC rigged up and running constantly to get a comfortable temperature in our house. We took care of the thermostat ourselves. They gave us a sticker with the model and serial number for the heat pump and said that we would need to register the heat pump with Rheem and we would get a 10 year transferable warranty. NOT TRUE!!! I called Rheem when I was unable to register the heat pump online and they said it only comes with a 5 year built in warranty that we do not need to register.

I would never recommend this company to anyone and we will never be using them again. My experience is that they are unprofessional, they do not follow through, and they misrepresent the products they install.

We've read the contract and the Home Warranty company sent you guys out to fix our AC whether it was to replace or repair, whichever needed to be done. The first diagnosis your company submitted to them was for a compressor and new refrigeration line ONLY and NOT a new outside unit. The old AC serial number is 1108690560 and the name of the 24 hour service company who's written statement includes "not replacing condensor motor because waste of money and obsolete unit" is Bock Services, LLC at 817-461-4849. I'll be happy to scan and email you a copy of their complete statement.

Just to add an update to this rebuttal...technicians #5 and #6 came out to replace our outside unit yesterday but they had to rig it up so it runs constantly because they replaced it with a heat pump which was not compatible with our thermostat. They said they would be coming back out today to install the new thermostat. Meanwhile, we have all of the windows open and the AC on to get a comfortable temperature in our house.

First things first, consumers should read their contract, when purchasing a home warranty, sedcond of all we submit a Diagnosis, if compressor replacement is what is authorized, then that is what Repair is done. Lets get  some facts, statement from 24 hour service company, serial number of unit which would indicate date air conditioner was made,

Second of all dont throw stones when you live in a Glass house
