Mharrisliveauctions - Mark Harris Purchased Bonnie Babe doll but received doll parts, the legs had been cut off. ripoff Cambridge Ohio
I purchased a total of six dolls from this company. I have a problem with Bonnie Babe by Georgene Averill. In the description mentioned was made of a defect; a tiny chip on upper right lid and it had been slipcovered. But, on the doll's composition arms mostly all the paint was gone; there was a homemade slipcover on the doll, which should have been removed by the auction company prior to sale as it was obvious to me at first view that something was wrong with the doll's legs.
Upon removal you could see they had been cut off. The doll's body is cloth and the upper portion of the doll's legs are cloth and fitted to them are composition legs (that is the way they were manufactured; however, someone cut the legs off at the cloth part). Also, the composition legs are approximately two inches too short and do not go with this doll's body. The scissor cuts in the muslin do not even match up on the cloth body to the cuts made on the upper muslin legs nor is the muslin a match in color.
I was sold doll parts (disquised as a doll under a pretty dress) not a complete doll. Mr. Harris deals mainly in antique dolls and should have removed the clothing and checked the doll for these damages before offering it for sale to the public. The doll was misrepresented;it does not substantially conform to what was expressly offered for sale but now he hides behind his "AS IS" clause to keep my money.
This was my first time in dealing with his company and it will be my last. He will not speak to me on the phone to take care of this situation.
