I purchased a 2012 Freightliner Cascadia from the company back towards the beginning of February of 2017 and I should have caught on with the debacle of the paperwork needing to be redone multiple times. The truck was in good shape on the outside, but after I had the truck delivered to me since I could not complete the paperwork nor leave with the truck after driving 4 hours to do so, the dealership recommended a company to deliver it for me at a later date. The delivery driver stated he did not have any issues with the truck on the way to make the delivery, but I immediately started having problems with it within the first week of having the truck. The fifth wheel would get stuck, I noticed the air bags were leaking, and discovered that no maintenance was done on the truck prior to it being placed on the lot for sale. I understand that when you purchase a used vehicle, you accept all risks, however, I have now had the truck for 3 months and only been able to put about 18k miles on it because of the amount of time it has been in a shop somewhere. I have spent upwards between $12-15k on it in repairs to include a clutch replacement and now it is in a shop in TN needing to have aftertreatment work done on it. The tech at the Freightliner shop has researched the database and there is no record of the truck ever having any work done on that system. This would be a reason that since I have had it, I've only seen a regen indicator come on a couple times for less than 20 minutes. This has now caused the truck to be inoperable because the temps in the system will not get high enough to complete the regen. I believe the truck was put on the lot knowing some major things were wrong with it.
