When I moved Hacienda de Valencia years ago it was a nice community. In the 10 years I lived there it turned into a dump, ill repaired ghetto looking community. The rent is outrageous for what they don't offer, things are "on hold", need approval from the home office in Chicago, new manager every year or less-each one less efficient than the last. The swimming pools are not cared for by qualified people and have been closed by the health department, they refuse to trim any foliage on the tenants lots, the driveways are for the most part cracked, full of potholes and in dire need of repair.

The water being shut off for repairs is a weekly occurance, and a couple years back was off for THREE DAYS!!! Although it is a senior park-the rent is raised every year, even though the extra monies do NOT get used to upgrade the park. There are many senior residents who simply cannot afford to move. I was one of the fortunate ones who escaped from that hell hole....my mortgage is not much more than the rent they charge and my water is never shut off, don't have potholes in my driveway and don't have to put up with psycho management who don't know their butt from a hole in the wall.

Just heard from some friends still living at Hacienda - NONE of the PROMISED work (driveways, palm trimming, etc., etc.) are getting done - WHY? Because the morons decided that renovating the main pool area is far more important. Tearing out all the cool deck and putting in tile - this has to be extremely costly. The driveways were promised over a year ago, palm trees a month ago, the exercise room - has been involved in ongoing non-construction for about a year. The annual rental increase was received-as it is every year. Again - the extra monies they extort out of a senior mobile home park are NOT being used for the good of the ENTIRE park. The well tenured residents use the main club house - MHC wants them happy. The residents should with hold their rent in an escrow account until the many, many promises are fulfilled. I feel sorry for the residents - many are on fixed incomes and cannot afford to move from this money pit.
