Anyone who lives in Florida knows that Charlie Crist had promised to "drop taxes like a rock". He also promised reform on insurance. The latter is worse than ever and the former he refused to even keep the legislature in session in 2007/2008 to come up with alternates fair to all that would keep taxes fair.

On face value the SOH amendment is meant to assist those who live in Florida from getting taxes they cannot afford. What it does not do is it does not take into consideration the freedom of movement from state to state, the younger people who are growing up, or did, under a housing boom, and many other factors. In fact, SOH which stands for Save Our Homes and stipulates that no property that is a primary residence  can be raised in market value by more than 3% per annum (per year) thereby guaranteeing that even if they are sitting on a million dollar property, a person who bought pre-boom is only paying taxes on 3% the value increase per year during the time they lived there.

A person example, I have a neighbour with two children who went through the system, we live in the same building, they have a senior mother/mother-in-law who live with them and they pay 426 DOLLARS per year. I on the other hand pay some 30 times + what they pay as I bought in 2007 when a so-called bill was proposed that was sure to pass that would even out the disparity of the taxes.

Nothing to date, including a commission that particularly was formed by Jeb Bush in the case that taxes got out of hand and were given power to trump any legislature or vote and simply place something on the ballot were also knocked off the ballot---considering Florida judges are being paid by these taxes one questions their ability to be partial, especially when they had nothing to say about a bigot bill on gay marriage whose wording can be construed as a marriage not being possible a second time around for even heterosexual countries---so I guess they selectively see what is "mis-wroderd" and "confusing".

NOW--LAST YEAR WAS MY FIRST TAX PAYMENT YEAR. SINCE CHARLIE CRIST FAILED COMPLETELY TO KEEP HIS PROMISE ONLY HELPING THOSE ALREADY IN BETTER POSITIONS, I FIGURED IF I AM GOING TO GET SCREWED I MAY AS WELL GET SOME POINTS ON MY CREDIT CARD FOR IT. WELL GUESS WHAT---MIAMI-DADE IS NOW THE ONLY COUNTY IN FLORIDA THAT AFTER TWO YEARS, LAST YEAR THEY PROMISED ANY DAY AND THIS YEAR IT IS THE SAME STORY, THAT DOES NOT HAVE A CREDIT CARD PAYMENT OPTION.

PLEASE DO YOUR PART AND CALL AND COMPLAIN TO FERNANDO CASOMAYOR DIRECT PHONE NUMBER IS 305-375-1468 HE IS THE TAX COLLECTOR. YOU SHOULD ALSO CALL IRENE TAYLOR WOOTEN, HOWARD PIPER, AND ANTHONY LEWIN ON 305-375-3392 AND 305-375-5311 (FOR IRENE TAYLOR WOOTEN AND ALSO MAYOR GEORGE BRUGESS WHO YOU CAN ALSO REACH ON  305-375--2713.

It is my intention to bring my payment to the tax collector, along with press, in pennies. If you have not paid, do the same! Let them suffer for denying the people of Miami-Dade the same privileges that other people in this state have. This potentially breaches our equal protection rights under the Florida constitution. Additionally, despite that Florida as a state has a constitutional ban on  imposing taxes on property, can someone explain how they have the right to govern property tax, be it SOH or collections? This should then be a county per county endeavor making SOH illegal or rather nullified.

PLEASE CALL. WE ALL COMPLAIN WE HAVE TO DO SOMETHING, TWO YEARS IS TOO LONG FOR OUR TAX MONEY TO GO TO SOME INEPT STATE WORKER WHO CANNOT PROCURE A SIMPLE MERCHANT ACCOUNT AS EVERY OTHER COUNTY IN THE STATE HAS BEEN ABLE TO DO.
