I was contracted from WYRIT by Micah Wangia in July of 2010 for some contract IT work in Mid-MO. i.e. go hither an yon and fix things. I had one job the first month and nothing the second month. I never received a stipend for that month. The next three months were great ( lots of jobs and got paid for them all)

When the January payroll was short by $160, I wrote an email in Feburary after receiving my payroll on the 15th stating the issue and received no reply.

I was supposed to have a performance review at the end of january to ruberstamp my getting a rate increase and a higher stipend. Micah never coonfirmed a date for the meeting. In May after waiting for my stipend, and not receiving it, I IM'd Micah and set up a in person interview for April 1st. On the day of the meeting he txt'd 20 mins late after the agreed time to meet and wrote that he wasn't going to make it. (He knew 3 hours before that he wouldn't be showing up).

Furthermore, I wrote an email detailing my problems and issues  to Micah and received no reply. Thereafter, I called WYRIT's office and requested they give me an ETA on Micah getting back to me and they said that it would be the next day. (three days later no contact from Micah).

I got partial payments

I got a few partial payments and continuous runaround from Micah Wangia, and after months of being lied to and cheated, I finally got a check for most of it.  But he still owes me nearly $200.

The email you mentioned was apparently sent out, even to me. But I for one will not do anything further for him unless paid in advance.  And even that, only after I get what he already owes me.

I hate to waste time and enrich lawyers, but it's obvious that I have to sue to get paid from this outfit.

Payoff

On April 12th Micah paid me for the remainder of Jan. and the stipend for Feb.Micah said that despite no official changes in company policy, with the financing company gone, there is no way that WYR can afford to pay any further stipends. So despite my excellent performance WYR would not be paying me a stipend for the foreseeable future.

He furthermore stated that he would be sending a company-wide email on the 13th detailing the situation and the WYR's current policies.

Had a chat with micah

Alright, after i posted this case to ripoff.com I went ahead and emailed the post url to "When You Require" and my Girlfriend called WYR and left a love note with micah's secretary. So, at 1 o'clock this after I got a call from micah trying to "get everything ok with both of us".

He leveled with me that his company had lost its financiing company. Which wasn't really news because he had sang me the same tune in March when I last had chatted with him. He reminded me that I hadn't really been through the "evaluation period" which is nuts because I have been working for WYRIT for 9 months this april. and the "eval period" was 3 months.

He did give me an over the phone evaluation. He said that he had no complaints about any of the jobs I had done. And no complaints about my deliverables. He wanted me to understand that this liquidity problem was not in anyway personal but completely due to his financier's going belly up.

In addition, He stated that he wanted to continue to work with WYR if i felt comfortable doing so. I stated that I was in desperate need of finances myself and that i expect WYR to pay its stipend due to my receiving no declaration of policy change. Then he said that since WYR has had to restructure that they couldn't meet the stipend obligation. However he would honor the stipend for Feburary anyway.

To me this means that because the company neglected to inform its contractee's as to the policy changes therefore, the policies arestill in effect until we (the contractor's) received notice and that Micah was trying to buy me off of what he owed with a little of what he owed.

When I told him in no uncertain terms that I wouldn't do any further jobs for his company unless the money was paypal'ed to me post haste he tried to say that the check had already been cut and was going in the mail. I countered with I really needed that money to be paypal'ed to me and he said that he would have the funds on tuesday.
