I met a man named Michael Adams. He said he is a car sales man. He goes to the auction here in town and buys cars at a discount to sell them for a small profit. I didn't have a big down payment, nor the credit to buy myself a car. He asked me what kind of car I wanted. Then promised me a car that following week.

The girl who introduced us, named Sara, had given him $600.00 to get her a car as well. He asked me for $500.00. I hesitated to give it to him, but he showed me his license and took me to his condo. There we signed a hand written contract between us. This stated that if I did not accept the car that I would be given back my $500.00 no questions asked.

He went to the auction the next day. Then I couldn't get a hold of him for three days. He then told me that I needed to pay him $1500.00 to see my car. I said no, I don't even know what kind of car you got me. He claimed that he purchased eight different cars. He said he would get into trouble for this because he was only allowed a few cars to purchase for the whole year since he didn't have a dealership. He also told me he didn't have a license to buy any cars at the auction, and that he used his cousins.

Again, I told him I needed to see a car before I gave him any more money. He simply stated, It was nice doing business with you! I said I want my $500.00 back, and he said I learned an expensive lesson.

I went to ask Sara about it. He ended up doing the same thing to her, and her roommate. Also that he advertises them in the newspaper under different names because you are only allowed so many ads for cars if you are not a dealer.

We called the police. They basically said all we can do is bring him to small claims court. I think he should be stopped. I know what he does is illegal. I can only imagine how many woman he does this to every month. It sickens me to know he takes advantage of woman who are going thru a rough time in their lives. He changed both of his phone numbers that I had right away. All I have is the address of the Condo he took me to. Now I'm not even sure if it's his. It is gated so I can't get in.

Now it's not about the money. It's about the fact of shutting his little scam business down. He said he can't be touched and we could never stop him. I'm hoping that you can help us make a liar out of him.

There's a man in Orange County that goes by David Adams, Adam Judd, Adam Starr that swindles people out of money All The Time....various ways. Selling arcade parts, acting as your friend, Engineering Projects, investment opportunities that never go through. Your story about a Michael Adams sounds so much like how this guy would operate. Even though you wrote this 9 years later, I hope you will be reading this :-D

Stacie,

Go back to the police and take the other victims with you. All three of you file a report.

Theft By Deception, Fraud, Grand Theft, and several other crimes are what this a*s could be charged with. I'm not up on all the Nevada laws.

If the police won't help, go to the consumer reporter at the local TV station and tell the story to them. You might try starting out your talk with the consumer reporter with "This lowlife ripped several people off in a car dealer scam and the police won't do anything!".

This will get the reporters interest up right away.

nd yes Stacie, file against him in small claims court in your area. The cost should be less than $50.00 to file. The Clerk's Office should have all the forms to fill out with uan instruction sheet thrown in.

File against him in small claims court and ask for you money back plus $2,000 or $3,000 in damages.

Keep fighing. Don't let the piece of trash win.

Also Stacie, if you can get a picture of this cretin, do so and post it on this site with your complaint!

You three probably aren't the only ones he's gotten.

Keep fighting, you'll win.

Respond to this Report!
