Michael L Braunstein: Is Michael L Braunstein a CyberBully?

Cyberbullying is the use of Information Technology to harm or harass other people in a deliberate, repeated, and hostile manner. Cyber-bullying could be limited to posting rumors or gossips about a person in the internet bringing about hatred in other’s minds; or it may go to the extent of personally identifying victims and publishing materials severely defaming and humiliating them. (Wikipedia)

Evidently Michael L Braunstein is very angry because he was denied a puppy by the rescue group, so he posted the following message repeatedly on ripoff, facebook and in emails to the volunteers:

“Is Good Dog Rescue a Scam? Good Dog Rescue approved us to adopt Abby after hours on a Tuesday and provided us its contract.  First thing Wednesday morning, I responded, advised that some minor non-substantive terms of the contract violated NY law, such as the contract not having Good Dog Rescue's address and not providing that a licensed veterinarian would confirm Abby's health.  Because I pointed out these issues, Good Dog Rescue canceled our adoption of Abby. There are rampant complaints about Good Dog Rescue on the Better Business Bureau, Rip Off Report and elsewhere.  The complaints range from bait and switch tactics (not delivering the promised dog), delivering sick dogs and other shady business conduct.  A former Good Dog rescue foster mom posts to avoid them at all costs because they are bad news.  An animal cruelty sheriff I know says they may be saving puppy mills from the euthanasia fee, not rescuing dogs. There are several other indicators that this place is shady, such as only accepting payment via PayPal and not disclosing its address on its website, contract or other paper work. After canceling our adoption of Abby, Good Dog rescue has not returned our telephone calls or emails.  Most scam artists run and hide when caught.”

I suspect that Michael L. Braunstein knows GDR isn’t a scam but has sought revenge by repeatedly posting this message on the internet. As a GDR adopter and longtime supporter, I would like to respond to his angry internet postings.

Michael L. Braunstein, you are angry…. Why?

  • Because GDR didn’t adopt a dog to you? Seriously?
  • Because GDR accepts only paypal? (the world’s most reliable form of payment). Now if GDR only accepted cash or money orders you might have a point. But you are suspicious of paypal?  Really?
  • In 11 years, there are 12 internet complaints posted by 8 disgruntled people (half of whom, like you, never even adopted a dog). Out of 5,000 adopters? A scam? Really?
  • In 11 years there’s only one BBB complaint and “BBB found business made good faith effort to resolve complaint but customer not satisfied with business response.” A scam? Seriously?
  • Facebook page with hundreds and hundreds of happy thankful adopters. A scam? Really?
  • And you want to malign a wonderful group of volunteers whose sole purpose is to save dogs from being killed? Really?

Your angry internet postings say a lot more about you than they do about GDR.
