If anyone has experienced the fleecing and price gouging that I personally encountered from attorney Michael Carman (formerly of Law Offices of Kunin and Carman but now of Price Law group), there is recourse!

I received a binding DECISION yesterday from the Nevada fee dispute program in the amount of $11,257.50! If there was a negative -5 star, I would give it to him.

While it doesn't cover the full $21,000.00 I wasted on him for nothing, it's a start. They even point out that he dropped my case on the eve of my trial. Save yourself the hassle but more importantly a panel of His peers saw it my way (2 attorneys and 1 lay person) and JUSTICE was served... ice cold.

Case #FD15-06* if readers are interested. They also address his excessive fees.

Quote:
Michael Carman's "charge of 4% to cover costs is determined to be excessive and unreasonable and therefore NOT ALLOWED in light of the fact that Respondent (Carman) charged for ALL itemized expenses."
"All work negotiations and preparation for trial were WITHOUT merit and of NO value".

*Straight from the mouths of his peers. #nofilter!

What more do you need to know?

UPDATE: He appealed the Decision and lost on all counts.

Michael Carman filed an appeal with the NV State Bar objecting to their Decision that he owes me $11,257.00 for work they called "without merit".

THE APPEAL WAS DENIED

Michael Carman still owes me money but as an attorney, he refuses to pay but expects all his clients to pay his exorbitant fees promptly.

The NV Bar Regional Chair stated on the denied Appeal:

* Mr. Carman's appeal, "appears to be a more tactical play on words than a substantive argument".

*"Mr. Carman provides no citation to a procedural violation and no case law".

*"There is a failure of evidence on appeal to support such a conclusion and, therefore, what has been provided (by Mr. Carman) is insufficient."

Now Mr. Carman has filed a request to have the Family Court reverse a decision made by the NV Bar.

Family Court is Not the proper jurisdiction.
The proper jurisdiction has already spoken but it appears Mr. Carman is looking for a legal loophole.
For example, what he did is like asking traffic court to weigh in on a murder case. Wrong court.

Family Court DENIED his request.

Let's see what stunt he pulls next.

Will keep you posted.

Caution. Take heed! You've been warned.

Thank me later!
