Complaint Review: Michel R. Huff Esq

Michel Rene Huff is a thief! I went through a referal service and he responded stating I "needed him for my case because he was a police officer" I did because I was frightened and didn't know where to turn.  He told me it would be a $10k flat fee for his services I paid it the same day.  As this was a criminal case the first court hearing, he said he usually don't come to the first hearings of his clients (1st redflag). I was surprised he'd say that because we had never met in person yet.  However, after the arrainment he was waiting for discovery to come in, when it did, the first thing he said was "oh it's a lot of stuff and it doesn't look good!" before even going through discovery his assistant attorney emailed me stating "I should take a plea and I might lose my real estate license."  I was upset that Heather would put that in an email and I told Huff so.  He said it's going to take them 2-3 weeks to go through everything as more discovery had come in.  Two months later he still hadn't shared anything with me.  Four days before the next hearing his office manager emailed me that the court date had been postponed but failed to tell me that he'd requested this postponement.  I reported this to the State Bar Association to ask him to share discovery with me.  When the State Bar Association contacted him, he resigned from my case via text the same day because he was upset.  I asked if he'd be refunding the $10k he stated "absolutely not!"  I went back to the State Bar Association to report this because a week later Huff had his office manager send me a blank invoice for $14k and said if I don't pay it he's sending me to collections.  This guy is a joke, he and his assistant attorney Heather are very unprofessional.

After he'd resigned from my case stealing my money for doing absolutely nothing because I'd done all the work for him, timeline, statement of facts even providing him arguments to use for my defense.  I received an email from his office, I was surprised because he'd already resigned but when I looked closely the email was meant for one of his other clients that after listening to the voicemails that was attached complaining about the same thing I was complaining about.  Heather had attached all of this clients confidential information to me, photos, videos, voicemails etc.  

I believe they played on my fear and ignorance had no intentions on defending me fairly but just wanted to take the money have me cop a plea and lose my liveliehood.  There is more bad things to say about Huff but I just wanted to report the theft part and people run when you see this mans name.  I still haven't gotten my money back and he's still under investigation by the Bar.
