Michele Prichard - AAA Diamond Sphynx Cattery In PA Bait and Switch, Refusal to Return Calls, Contract Breach, and Money and Goods Still Owed Evans City Pennsylvania
On 4/17/07 my husband and I entered into a contract with Michele Prichard, owner of AAA Diamond Sphynx. We paid a $500.00 deposit to secure a kitten, and we were promised delivery on 5/27/07. Article 6 of the contract states, "AAA Diamond Sphynx Cattery agrees to provide neutering/spaying prior to cat/kitten being placed as pets or show alters and placed into their new homes." The total agreed-upon cost for the kitten, which included the cost of spaying, was $900.00.
On the weekend we were scheduled to take possession, we traveled from our home in the Washington, D.C. area to Pittsburgh, where the breeder operates. When we arrived we were informed by the breeder's son that she was not available due to an unforeseen emergency. He then informed us that the cattery had been unable to get the kitten spayed as stipulated in the contract, but that his mother would refund us $100 of the remaining $400 we were paying that day, once we showed proof that we had gotten the kitten spayed.
Ms. Prichard had made no attempt to apprise of the situation in advance so we could make an informed entry into the contract as she was altering it. We had no opportunity to research the situation and no choice but to comply or forfeit our deposit and our kitten. When we returned home, our vet informed us they would not perform a spay surgery prior to a female kitten's 6 month anniversary.
On 10/3/07, the kitten was spayed at a cost of $168.00. Since that time, we have sent e-mails to the two e-mail addresses known to us (including the one currently posted on the owner's web site), and called her at least 20 times. She owes us not only money, but also our kitten's official papers.
We have now filed a complaint with the BBB, that she picked up through certified mail 2 months ago, but chose to ignore. This breeder acted in bad faith in the execution of the contract and by taking advantage of our position of having traveled from out of the state and possessing little knowledge in the area of the costs and responsibilities associated with getting a female kitten spayed.

If you have sent this breeder has accepted multiple deposits on the same sphynx & fails for refund the customers money. She is under federal investigation for Money laundry & fraud. She also has accepted mutiple cats to stud then tells the owners their cats got away. This is screaching to a halt.
To help in this investigation & to file for compensation for your loss please file a report with the attorney general of Pennsylvania. There is a field agent assigned to this investiagation who will make you whole again.
This is nightmare will end soon. Pray for the sphynx in her hands
The number for the agent is four one two- five six five- two eight eight two
Thanks Charlene for getting the ball rolling on this.

There is more than one breeder that Jen tried to purchase her sphynx from. It is obvious that Michele did not see the warnings about Jennifer. The board has a link to this site & that is how I found Jens crazy rant.
I understand that there is a $1000 penality if the buyer does not spay the kitten before 6 months. I am not a lawyer but Jen did enter the contract & I assume she can read. I assume that she owes the breeder $1000 for that is how the contract is written that I saw on the board.
One last thought...if you do not understand the contract then ask for advise before committing

Why would all of Michele's customers happen to be looking at the Rip Off Report site unless within a couple of days of each other. A simple coincidence? More likely 1 person w/ 4-5 alias.
Jennifer: If I were you I'd contact all available consumer affairs bureaus, better business bureaus, etc. around the area where the breeder is located. Also, check with the local humane society and local animal control to be sure this is a legit business and that it is licensed. If it's a puppy mill-type place and unlicensed then it can and should be shut down. And lastly, I'd try and located previous customers to see if they had the same experience. Gather the information together and I'll refer you to a good lawyer wherever she is located who will take the case for you.
I am sick of seeing people being taken advantage of with businesses thinking there is no recourse. If you are reading this and have been taken advantage of by AAA Diamond Sphynx Cattery, please contact Jennifer.

Please stop these unfair and insane attacks on Jennifer
Please stop the unfair attacks on the breeder. You do not have copy of the contract & as a lawyer you should look at the facts before making sladerous remards
First of all, I've been following this thread for a bit now. It has been very informative and scary to see what happens when a consumer (Jennifer) gets ripped off, and actually takes the time to write a very well-thought out statement of what happened in the hopes of some justice, just to be attacked by these 'different' people. Let me start off by saying that I agree w/ Melissa's post and that these attacks seem unjustified and unnecessary. If you will allow me just a few minutes of your time, I'll list off what I have seen so far:
Seems like you have to much time on your hands as a lawyer in San Fran I think you would have more important things to do. You assume Jen was ripped off yet you do not have both sides of the story & you do not have the contract so you do not have enough information to make an intelligent decision hence we have your post
1. Any educated person will be able to read the posts of many of these 'different' posters and tell by the writing style and crazed tone that they are actually the same person.
If you were actually a lawyer with an education you would obtain the facts rather than make accusations
2. A poster said that Jennifer is treating her pet like a product. The fact is, this was a business transaction w/ both a product (cat w/ papers) and a service (spaying). Neither the product nor service was complete. Therefore, the business transaction is not complete until the breeder upholds her end of the deal.
Read Jens posts. She does not refer to her pet as a pet just a product. Sad
You do not have all the facts & your assumptions are not fair. Get the facts before first!
3. Considering poster Praline's denial about being the actual breeder (Michele), Praline sure knows a lot about Jennifer's deal w/ Michele. This would mean one of two things: Either Praline IS Michele, which should make you question her integrity and sanity OR Michele gave confidential information about a client, which is very unprofessional. Either way looks bad. Would you want Visa to give out your personal information to the public b/c you were late on a monthly payment or had a dispute about a charge and they got mad at you?
There are several private sphynx breeders boards & there are Jennifer Camden warnings to all breeders. Jennifer Camdens personal information is not top secret. Google her & you will have it. Not like she is in witness protection
4. From reading all these posts, it sounded like the breeder was unresponsive. If that is the case how can you reasonably expect the coordinate w/ someone short of knocking on their door? Also, if the breeder has time to post 'on a breeders board that warned breeders about fraudulent customers & pet buyers pulling scams' as Praline said, why wouldn't she take the time to post a respond and defend herself on this board? Hint: Praline and Michele might be the same person!
What sounds like & what is is seldom the same thing. You might very well be Jen. You might be PRaline or you might be Michele. Then again you might be one of the charmed ones. You do not have the facts & your assumptions make you sound like a lawyer that I would not want to defend me for free. Stay in school & do not quit your day job
5. To poster Bald Sexy p***y: you said 'You (Jennifer) admit you violated your contract.' Where in any of Jennifer's postings did she admit that?
JEn stated that she did not alter her product before 6 months which is in standard contracts!
6. Praline said 'This is not Jennifer Camdens first sphynx purchase. She purchase two other sphynx from other breeders but she did not properly take care of them & they are no longer alive.' If the breeder KNEW Jennifer didn't take care of her previous cats and they died, why would the breeder sell her another cat?
Wow you said you have been following this!! Guess not. Jen said how wonderful the breeder was who sold her the cats that died. From what I read on the breeders boards she told breeders various ages. Jen's story is forever changing
7. I applaud Jennifer for treating this situation w/ class and dignity in light of all these underhanded and unjustified attacks.
Who whow who Jen -rather than deal with your issue directly slander breeders & tell lies what a big person. I am impressed...not
Lastly, I'm sure not all of you will agree w/ my comments and that's o.k. But please do not attack me the way you 'all' attacked Jennifer. I believe everyone should be able to have free speech, especially in a forum like this where we as consumers should be on the same side to weed out unscrupulous businesses. Let's remember that if what Jennifer is saying is true (which I believe it is), then former customers of Michele Pritchard are fortunate if they didn't experience the same ordeal Jennifer is going through. It doesn't mean that Jennifer is a liar, cat killer or generally bad person. It means that we have one more documented case of a unwitting consumer being ripped off by a shady business.
your stating that the business is shady makes me seriously doubt you are a lawyer. You do not have any facts & make assumptions. Sounds like you are Jennifer Camden to me for you make no sense like her posts
By the way, I am a consumer advocate lawyer who will be happy to advise Jennifer on her many ways of legal recourse and she DOES have many.
Then she should go that route but since she violated contract she does not have any avenue that I can thinkof as a breeder. I am glad she does not have any of my sphynx

Warnings about Jennifer Camden on all breeder boards
#25Consumer Suggestion
Fri, December 07, 2007
I am a sphynx breeder & have read the heads up warnings regarding Jennifer Camden & husband or fiance for I understand they email different people different stories. Some breeders they tell they had two cats that died of HCM, Some they tell they were poisioned & others they tell they had a blood clot. THere are two sides to every story & Jennifer states clearly that she did not comply to her contract & spay her kitten. Sure she has legal rights as does the breeder.
Both sides need to be heard. If this Jennifer Camden had a real case she would make ot not slander this breeder. I know if the breeder & know catteries who breed her line. Michele is a no non sense type of woman. She is fair & honest. There are many breeders who have been spreading the word about Jennifer on private sphynx boards. Sure there are bad breeders out there but this is not one of them. For every bad breeder there are 5 bad pet buyers. Jen refers to her pet as a product which I think is sad.
Just my two cents from a breeder who loves all of her Sphynxs & would never call any of them a product
I thnk Jen needs to deal with the truth & deal directly rather than slander a breeder for no reason. For the people defending Jen she did not comply with her contract so she is not owed a dime
I think live & let live & enjoy your "product"
Sad

What is wrong with you people? The Girl deserves her money!
#25Consumer Comment

I had a situation years ago with a breeder withholding money after not sending me puppy I had paid for. It sounds to me like the breeder is writing all these nasty responses...I'm sure these are not actual people. No matter how you feel personally about someone, the breeder did not spay the cat; the girl did, and she deserves her money. Just because the breeder doesn't like her she shouldn't get her money back? What the hell is wrong with you people, insulting this girl personally? Saying she doesn't deserve a pet? Jen sounds polite, and she explained the facts accurately and succinctly. And I applaud her for not responding to your stupidity...Good lord, "Praline" or whoever you are (you should call yourself nutjob), saying you've never been with her husband? Ooh, aren't you the clever one, what a snappy remark! Did it take you a long time to think of that? I'm sure her husband wouldn't want an illiterate pig like you.
As for the breeder revealing this girl's personal info such as where she works,( when you know you owe her money), saying things about her cats who died, what kind of piece of trash are you? She's not petty because she wants her money back. You sound like a low-life thief.
I just feel bad that this breeder has a child-sound like she should have been sterilized, much like the rest of you people. Jen, I hope you get your money back, this woman and her "friends" sound like complete degenerates!

Dear Praline aka Michele,
Thank you for finally identifying yourself as the breeder about whom I filed my complaint. Why are you making this more complicated by using an alias, saying you know the breeder but are not her and that you live in Uniontown and not Evans City? Please be more mature and contact me directly so we can resolve this.
In the meantime, clearly you know that my two previous cats, siblings of each other, died of heart disease before they were 10 years old. Why would you be so cruel as to state that they died of that disease due to my neglect, especially when the necropsy shows it was hereditary and could not have been helped? We'd had a wonderful experience with that breeder, and I do no blame her that the kittens had ended up sick later in life.
Also, nothing is gained when you cite untrue facts that are so easily proven wrong. Everyone involved knew the holiday weekend we were driving up to get our kittenwe agreed to that when we sent you the deposit, and we have it in writing multiple times. We also have notes from our conversations when not only you, but also your son and daughter, told us that you couldn't get our kitten spayed due to an emergency when some kittens from another litter you had had died at you'd been at the vet for a week. We also have notes of you saying that your uncle was dying and that is why you couldn't get certain things done. Both of those situations are sad and we wish you hadn't had to deal with them, but trying to make such a lame accusation that it had to due with us driving all the way to Pittsburgh earlier than the kitten was promised to be ready will not resolve the fact that, in any case, you owe us money and the papers.
Last, why do you insist on revealing personal information about me? As you strive to be a reputable breeder, you should understand how unprofessional and inappropriate it is to do that. You, as a breeder doing business with the public, should know that with your company comes the legitimate opportunity for customers to complain if the services aren't delivered as promised. I, as an individual consumer, and all of your past and future customers, now know that you will have no reservations about revealing personal, unrelated details about who has done business with you if you don't want to own up to your end of the deal. I certainly suggest other people reconsidering working with you and instead choose another breeder for fear of having their names, places of employment, and whatever else you decide to share with the public, revealed in such an underhanded and completed pointless manner. I can say, however, that I'm glad you have at least responded (albeit using an alias), so I can talk to you when you have refused to answer any direct phone calls or e-mails.
The end result is the same You owe us money and papers. It wouldn't take you that long to write a check and put it in an envelope with the papers. Please contact me so we can resolve it quickly and move on with our lives. If you don't want to speak with me, you also have my husband's contact information. Thank you.

Jennifer Camden showed up early with no notice & violated contract. She also has two sphynx from other breeders who died
#25UPDATE Employee

The reason Jennifer Camdens Sphynx was not altered is that she & her fiance showed up without notice before she was to pick up her cat. This is not about a product it is about a live breathing creature. People who assume breeders make a profit should try it & see how much money they make
This is not Jennifer Camdens first sphynx purchase. She purchase two other sphynx from other breeders but she did not properly take care of them & they are no longer alive. If Jennifer Camden is too budy at Devry to take care of an animal then she should not purchase another one. If Jennifer Camden arrived when she was suppose to her "beloved product" lol sick people would of been altered.
If you do not understand a contract then do not enter one
If you are not able to show up when you are suppose to then do not blame the breeder.
Why did your other two sphhynx die Jennifer

It is great to know someone else has had a good experience with this breeder.
For us, too, to have a good experience, we simply ask for our $168 (not $68) to be refunded (which we sent proof of spaying to justify that was picked up in certified mail), plus the papers to be sent. We haven't asked for her to reimburse us our lost time from work for the various appointments needed for pre-spaying, spay surgery, and post-surgery checkups after getting the kitten spayed, even though if this gets to legal action, we will do so because the contract price included that service and we should not have been required to take off work to do that.
If the breeder did not find the paperwork she wanted in the certified mailer, the solution is for her to call us or e-mail us at the many contact means we have left her e-mails and voicemails about, or through this ripoffreport.com site.
For the future, I also suggest this breeder--like all other professional persons doing business with the public--develops a backup plan to ensure no substantial disruption in service or contract breach result when the unexpected (like a death in the family) occurs.
Last, I encourage this breeder to consider that most customers will be understanding of unforeseen events that are delaying the services promised to them IF the breeder or his/her designate maintains reasonable levels of contact and responsiveness. A month and a half is NOT a reasonable amount of time for a vendor to respond to a customer's need.

I know this breeder personally & she is one of the best people I know.
Papers take time from TICA. Did you send her proof of spaying? Did you realize that she just lost a close family member?
Did you ever lose somebody that you love?
Looks like you have your panties in a uproar over $68
Live & let live. Treat people the way that you would like to be treated. Have you never lost a love one or have you never loved anybody?
The price that you paid for your cat was a steal for a AADIAMOND cat. She has the healthest of most breeders. Count your blessings & give the woman a break. If you are owed $68 you will get it. If you b***h, whine & kick somebody when there is no reason then why should she bother.
Give the woman a break
Are you heartless?
