On Sunday, 12/13/09 I received a phone call from a Blake Johnson asking if I was looking for part/full time work and that there may be an administrative office position available. The only details given about the company was that it is a "Health and wellness" company and works with individuals who have heart disease and other health issues. I indicated that I was interested and told to attend a meeting on Tuesday, 12/15/09 at 1 PM at the Village Plaza building, suite 609 in Dearborn, MI.
Upon arriving I was lead into a meeting room and an individual gave a presentation about a company called Symmetry. During the presentation the presenter made claims that a Symmetry product, "Genesis" Had removed cancer and diabetes in clients, had allowed other clients to stop taking medications and claimed that one woman who took the product was able to start having periods when she previously was not able.

Statements were also made that signing up with the company would lead to profits larger than the initial investment, yet when asked about the average projected income for the distributor no answer was given. There were also no documents shown to prove any of the stated financial claims. Towards the end of the presentation the attendees were given the choice to sign up with the company which required buying products and given the option to go to a seminar the weekend of 12/18/09 at a fee of $200.

This coupled with the claim that there were only three spots available and a total of five attendees at the meeting created a high pressure sales environment. After the session questions asked about the product ingredients and testing were met with very limited answers as well as skepticism and were very negative towards any research about the company or its products that were not made by the company itself.

To the Owner of the company,

First off, our office is independantly (sic) owned and DOES work in conjuction (sic) with Symmetry.  Which happens to be a part of the BBB, the DSA, and the California Chamber of Commerce to name a few legitimate affiliations!  Also, we have been around for 14 years and expanded to 30 countries, due to legitimate business and thus have helped thousands of people with their health.  (obviously we wouldn't have been this long and expanded this much if this were not true).

First off, I think it is interesting that you have chosen to remain anonymous. The idea that a business wont expand if its not legitimate is a popular misconception. Numerous companies engaging in unlawful and deceptive behavior have spread across the globe by deceiving others, such as Enron and Enzyte, whose former CEOs are now in prison.

On the phone, this individual as well as other people are told that this is not a job, but rather a business opportunity.

This is not what I was told on the phone and is the main reason I filed this report. What was offered to me by a Blair Johnson was full or part time administrative work. The 1PM office visit was supposed to be my interview. If this was a business opportunity you need to be upfront about what is being offered, consumers shouldnt be told one thing on the phone then show up to something completely different.

In regards to the product, I cannot make any health claims directly related to our products (due our wonderful FDA)... but i can say that the ingredients in the products are PROVEN to HEAL THE BODY... which in turn can remove diseases!

So you cant speak about the products, but you can make all the claims you want about the ingredients? We need to see that these ingredients are existent in symmetry products, and exactly how much. In the presentation, the Symmetry product Genesis was claimed to have an ORAC score of 400,000, I would love to see an independent lab study that proves this, and if its true, Symmetry should have no problem submitting it for study. Another Also, making claims about the ingredients doesnt mean that symmetry products containing those ingredients will have the same effect, this is a tactic often used in other juice MLM companies such as Monavie with the Acai berry. In any case, supplements of Genesis key ingredient resveratrol can be found at Walmart, Target and Walgreens for as little as $5.

The report of cancer being removed, diabetes going away and a woman having periods is TRUE.  They are real people and all friends of mine...

If so, then please leave their names and contact info as well as yours so their claims can be verified.

In regards to income... people are self-employed... how can we give a projected income.   We can show how we get paid.. but how do i know if someone is lazy????  There are many documents showing the percentages, and we have nothing to hide!

You better believe that Symmetry knows exactly how much each one of its distributors are making and could easily put together documents that show how much the average distributor makes, as well as the attrition rate and turnover. Since this is being pitched as an amazing opportunity as you describe it, it needs to be backed up with documented facts and evidence. If these documents do exist as you claim they do, please post them so we can verify.

We do offer training.. some are free and the "optional" one's have a "tiny" investment.

Please enlighten us as to what dollar amount constitutes a tiny investment. Be sure not to leave out costs such as travel expenses or other materials that would be purchased at the training.

This is hardly a high pressure environment

I have honestly never been in such a high pressure sales environment before. What makes an environment high pressure is the added sense of urgency, which was certainly in the presentation and the Rhino state university pitch.

It is too bad the internet has become the bathroom walls of the 20th century and I now taking time out of my day, as a CERTIFIED NUTRITIONAL CONSULTANT to respond to these ridiculous comments!

You better get used to the internet, because its not going away anytime soon. I have never heard of a Certified nutritional consultant before, however it doesnt seem very credible. Unlike a physician or dietitian, certified nutritional consultants are not registered or licensed. The CNC title is highly criticized by the medical community, and according to the American Association of Nutritional Consultants (AANC) the certification is "is not intended as a substitute for licensed medical care, and is offered for educational purposes only."

For more info on the certified nutritional consultant title and where to get proper nutritional advice check here:

Again, we have nothing to hide...

Again, if this is true please post your documents as evidence

But, if you want to help people with their health and you want to own your ownbusiness and create some extra income... then come down and SEE IT FOR YOURSELF :)

-thanks

I came down, I saw it for myself and there is nothing to see that I havent discussed in my report. Also you leave your response without even signing your name, something proving that you are actually the owner would be appreciated.

In regards to the report regarding Michigan Health Associates.... I just want to answer a few issues, by showing how ridiculous the individual's remarks are....

First off, our office is independantly owned and DOES work in conjuction with Symmetry.

On the phone, this individual as well as other people are told that this is not a job, but rather a business opportunity.  We work as independant contractors, (self-employed).  In regards to the product, I cannot make any health claims directly related to our products (due our wonderful FDA)... but i can say that the ingredients in the products are PROVEN to HEAL THE BODY... which in turn can remove diseases!  The report of cancer being removed, diabetes going away and a woman having periods is TRUE.  They are real people and all friends of mine... Nutrition healing the body is a fact that cannot be disputed...   Our laboratories are FDA inspected and are the largest in the entire United States.  We believe in quality and results (which is why we are growing).

In regards to income... people are self-employed... how can we give a projected income.   We can show how we get paid.. but how do i know if someone is lazy????  There are many documents showing the percentages, and we have nothing to hide!  We do offer training.. some are free and the "optional" one's have a "tiny" investment.   (so do universities - and they cost WAY MORE than ours).
This is hardly a high pressure environment, but rather an amazing opportunity for an individual to grow and build something for themselves that no one can take away!

Again, we have nothing to hide... I feel that this indivual is writing about a company he/she knows nothing about.  It is too bad the internet has become the bathroom walls of the 20th century and I now taking time out of my day, as a CERTIFIED NUTRITIONAL CONSULTANT to respond to these ridiculous comments!  oh well.

If you are going to let someone sway you to not at our opportunity... then PLEASE DO NOT come down to the office.  But, if you want to help people with their health and you want to own your own business and create some extra income... then come down and SEE IT FOR YOURSELF :)
-thanks
