·       The amount money that I Paid Micro PC LLC: $199.00

·       What the businesses Micro PC Service was committed to provide me: I was trying to buy Norton Antivirus Software from Norton on the internet. I found the phone number searching the internet. I called the number the person tat answered the phone said I had reached Norotn Antivirus software company. Unfortunately, it was not Norton but Micro PC Service’s misrepresenting Norton and claiming to be Norton.

·       What was the nature of the dispute: Micro PC Service misrepresenting themselves as Norton. Their imitation product the installed did not work.

·       Whether or not the Micro PC service tried to resolve the problem:  It is exceedingly difficult for Micro PC Service LLC to resolve my issue when the bases for this dispute they misrepresented themselves as Norton Virus Protection and its product.

Indeed, Micro PC advertises their services online. They claimed to be Norton when I called them, using Norton websites to illustrate and contrast Norton’s product lineup with mine. They performed a great job of tricking me into believing that I am buying an actual Norton virus protection program for my computer from NORTON,

Description of the complaint:

I was online searching for a new virus protection software. I was disgruntled with my existing service provider (Bitdefender) for poor to non-existing customer support for their product. I wanted to change my computer virus protection to Norton. So, I searched online for Norton Antivirus software, obtained a phone number off the web, and called what I assumed was Norton software. I ask the person answering the phone, are you Norton antivirus software? The person answering the phone said he was with Norton. He went on Norton web pages to show me assorted options and programs that Norton offered. I informed him that I thought $199.00 for the Norton software was expensive. So, he went back online to the Norton web pages and showed me a Norton software package that cost $199.00 with all its extra features. I paid the $199.00 via AE credit card. I did not sign any Adobe electronic signature software. After receiving the $199.00 payment, the tech installed the Norton software. The tech accesses my computer online (back door) and installed the program. After he completed Norton's software installation, I had a chance to look at my computer screen, I saw the newly installed Norton software login had Micro PC service users name and password. 1. The customer (Douglas Cunningham) logins using my users name and password. 2. The Norton software had 8 of 20 users. I am a new user, so my new virus software just installed on one of my computers. Now I am genuinely concerned that Micro PC Service had misrepresented themselves as Norton. I at once contacted my credit card company American Express hoping to stop payment, unfortunately I cannot (only 2 business days from my purchase). So, I contacted Micro PC Services, informed them that they had misrepresented themselves and to fix the software where I can use it. Out of caution and concern, I had to uninstall their program, including the software used to access the back door to install the software. After I removed Mico PC software I reinstalled my Bitdefender Virus protection software and ran a virus scan to discover I had (15) computer viruses that Mico PC's program never discovered. Their program did not even work.
