The MicroNet Technology, Inc. Rebate Center has completed processing your submission for the following promotion:
Department: 085173 - MMD47 - MDC500 $25 MIR
Submission ID: 85378386
Unfortunately, we were unable to honor your request for the following reason: Invalid Serial number.

This 500GB drive was purchased through Mac Mall. The rebate info INCLUDING THE ORIGINAL UPC label with serial/model number was submitted. I replied to their first refusal by asking how could I have an "invalid serial number" when I submitted the original upc cut from the box. They told me to resubmit. I resubmitted with xerox copies of all documentation (including the upc), and they've denied again for the same reason.
THIS COMPANY'S REBATE IS A SCAM! BEWARE!!!

After reading about my problems here, MicroNet customer service contacted me and resolved the misunderstanding. I've received my rebate and all is right with the world.

Hi Rocky,

MicroNet Technology pays over $20k/month in rebates, In the case of most of our rebate campaigns, the fulfillment is sourced to a third-party firm. This other company is not incentivized to decline rebates in any way. In fact, from a business practices standpoint, declining any number of rebates inappropriately means that they make less money and spend far more dealing with the customer service headache that such a thing would generate.

The serial number included with both instances of your rebate submission was "522074" which is invalid. This number does not come from the collateral (the UPC included), but from the number you write down in the serial number field. Had you consulted with one of MicroNet's CSRs directly (they can be contacted at (800) 800-DISK or rebate@micronet.com) they would have been able to help you find the correct number for your second claim.

You can also request escalation on your claim directly from MicroNet through the form on our website: http://www.micronet.com/support/rebate_inquiry.asp
