Notification of winnings of GBP 1,000,000.00 in a UK based Microsoft / AOL / Nokia lottery draw. Instructions to respond providing contact details.  A rather obvious scam, but very elaborate content including a certificate of award, digitally signed by "Mr. Bill Gates".

I was immediately dubious and sceptical, but played along to discover where the pay-off came in for the scamsters. It seems to be in the payment of a "courier charge" when they send your "HSBC Bank Certified Draft".

I was a lot more interested in being led to a site like Rip-Off Report. If we can't put these fraudsters in jail where they belong, maybe at least we can stop their activity.
