I bought a 91 cougar from them. They stated they had inspected the car & it was in tip top shape & safe to be driven. There was a squeak in the front end & their mechanic said it was a rubber bushing that he had lubed & it would go away. The squeak got worse so I took it to a certified mercury dealership & they said both front ball joints were bad, the oil pan was leaking & the rear differential was leaking fluid. Total for repairs: $1705. I had the car for 17 days & drove it 400 miles. They gave me a 30 day 1000 mile warranty. When I called them about the defects, they stated they would not go by the deaerships word because they were just trying to get me to spend money. They told me to drive the car back to them so their mechanic could look at it. I told him I live 100 miles from them & didnt feel safe driving it there with the ball joints & oil leaking. They called me back & said they would refund me $1409...I paid $1909 for the car. they said they are charged $500 for paperwork reversal. I returned the car, collected my $1409. When I returned home I looked through all of my paperwork & there is no mention of a "restocking or reversal fee". They warranted the car, saying it was safe & it was not. Now I am out $500 for some supposed paperwork fee. I have since filed a complaint with the attorney generals office & sent them a demand letter for my other $500.
