I contracted Mid Atlantic Waterproofing to waterproof my basement in May 2015. Their salesman came to my home and painted a dire picture and gave me an estimate that if I didn't accept the quote at that time it would increase by a substantial amount when he walked out the door. At first I said no to the high pressure tactics but I then panicked and called him back to accept the estimate. They sent a crew to do the actual work and everything seemed fine until several days later when I realized my den floor was sinking into my basement. When I called another contractor out to examine they told me that when the waterproofing work was done the contractor hired by MA had cut the support beams for my den floor above. It was a problem that needed to be fixed immediately and the contractor charged me $500 for the job (which was very fair considering the situation). I called the salesman from MA and he no longer wanted to help me and referred me to customer service. I called several times and finally after 3 months one of the MA representatives came to my house to inspect the damage. Upon his review he immediately agreed the contractor they hired had made an error and said I was entitled to compensation for the damage. Initially we agreed to $250 and 2 free flushes. I agreed because I wanted to put this all behind me but I never received any funds or service. after several months of hearing the "check is in the mail" I called and complained to a new General Manager who apologized and promised to send me the entire $500 for my trouble. They told me the check was sent out the week of 4/27/2016 and then when I called several weeks later they informed me it had not yet been processed. Fast forward to July 14, 2016 and I was told the check was sent 2 months ago. I am at the end of my rope and am not complaining about the fact I was pressured into making an immediate decision on the initial sales call but I simply want the money owed to me for their faulty work.
